First, the device itself, processing and appearance very good, also the mount holds bombproof (but you should pay attention to the pressure lever of the suction cup to open until it clicks). The display is very clear and stands out against the "candy colors" many competitors from.
The functions are very clear and intuitive, so that to get along well without a manual - and it makes for some details meaning that around 60 pages (2 to 1 last) print. It is also good that the Navigon limited to the really important task, navigating (next to an image viewing function) and otherwise not include superfluous Klimbim.
As a very positive I feel that each always quickly find the satellites and the following very fast route calculation - here I had done worse experience with a Becker device.
Perfect is also the TMC function with the built-in charging cable antenna. Automatic route recalculation when congestion worked smoothly.
Great help is also obtained by the Lane Departure Warning System and the Reality View function - previously very reliable anzeigten motorway exits and crosses.
Now the only downside, the software from Navigon, downloads and support.
If you decide the "Fresh-Maps" updated for 2 years to order, the stress can already begin.
As already wrote at this point other buyers, there are some PC's with Windows XP download considerable problems updates. Why is it is not clearly spelled out, certainly at a minimum free space of 4GB is not alone. My computer was running at least not with. Two longer calls to the hotline from Navigon brought no workaround that advice was poor and the staff as seemed just helpless and recommended that I should sometimes use a different PC - one has ever 10 standing around at home ...
I succeeded but then to start downloading the update maps on the laptop of a friend (and Windows XP). With previous backup you should - even with a fast DSL line - reckon about 3 hours. Fortunately this is only one every 3-4 months necessary.
For this reason, for the otherwise excellent device, a trigger, for the extremely slow software and the real improvement worthy service of Navigon.
