Without conviction, I still bought this 50mm that said, every photographer has to have in his bag. And here I must say that I took a slap from the first seconds of use. He hardly left my case. Finally shots with excellent sharpness! Finally a bokeh (background blur made through the large opening) beautifully marked, highlighting the subject. The pictures taken indoors, on overcast days and in winter moreover, are more devastated by camera shake due to slow speeds which are used with an opening at f4.5! Say goodbye to the built-in flash and its disastrous lighting, you'll vivid images even at night with the only light bulbs of the house!
Anyway, I conquered. This kind of reward objo composition efforts. Previously I writhed for perfect framing, but this did not make as much as I wanted. now my gym is rewarded because I can focus on my subject with the opening (between 1.8 and 2.8 say).
What to say otherwise? You get used to shoot in low light and suddenly the autofocus has trouble, but we must recognize that it is the capacity of the goal that encourage us to attempt developed in weak lighting, and always ends up out anyway.
It is not stabilized, but at 50mm (full sized, giving a 75mm on my D5100) is not a problem.
It is light, the focus ring falls well in hand, I did not notice any annoying vignetting even with the lens hood (as we say in Nikon), comes with a small bag, it's just a bit expensive compared to the competitor Canon, I think it's his only real flaw.
Is of course that it is a fixed focus, moreover with a tighter framing than its focal suggests for the elders of the silver like me (it sometimes lacks perspective to take the subject and the context around) because the APS-C it is not full size. In short, live the fixed focal lengths, squirrel only has to put some nuts aside to pay a 35mm and a 105mm macro ... It's going to be happy that Madame, thank you Nikkor ;-)!
