This is always a great pleasure to see the universe Pratchett, Ankh-Morpork and its guilds, its patrician, his watch, his golems, his shenanigans of all kinds. As such, Timbré offers nothing really new, just a deepening of certain already begun in earlier books elements (the Discworld, the clicks-clacks, golems,). The purists may regret it, I did it my embarrassed beyond measure.
Side character by cons, if we find familiar figures (Ridcully, Vetinari), the book introduced new kids: Moist Von Lipwig, rogue patented and Adora Belle Chercoeur, inveterate smoker in pretty face but with a strong character.
I must admit i had a little trouble with the plot of "Going Postal" I wondered where exactly Pratchett was driving, I find that unlike his other novels, the different rooms are struggling to put in place and the pace is less controlled.
But even if the plot does my not entirely convinced, I was seduced by the characters. As always with Pratchett, they are rich and complex. Moist is a crook, a manipulator. That could make it unpleasant, this is not the case, as the author manages to bring us into his head, he allows us to share his emotions, doubts, fears. And we must lavouer, Moist is great (crazy awesome as our English friends would say).
Jadmire Pratchett also work on the secondary characters, this capacity in some lines to be a character, through dune description, its quirks, dun dialogue. Again, I tip my hat to the master.
Well, then, we must lavouer a Pratchett book, this is always a good time of fun in perspective, better not hide his pleasure (special mention to the heels Dadora Belle, and Ridcully technique to treat intruders wanting to pursue University in justice linvisible).
