This album was not created auspicious. After the huge success of "video killed the radiostar" it was difficult to complete an entire album that takes the comparison. "The age of plastic" has not reached the expected heights and calling YES, for the excellent "Drama" was certainly a great opportunity but also a headlong rush. Without further action, the experience left them Buggles YES to the crossroads. Apparently only Travis Horn still believed in Buggles. Geoffrey Downes was in her ASIA project and has done little to "Adventures in modern recordings" (3 tracks on the original album - at least one, "On TV", dated from the beginning of the Buggles). The result is a pretty average album. "The age" was fresh and rhythmic. "Adventures" is slower and a little lukewarm. The work on the titles takes an important place (with sometimes interesting sounds). Experimentation voluntarily premium (such Kraftwerk?, The inner picture is a reference to "the man machine"). There are not really very good titles (some are pretty bad). Yet there is "I am a camera", which reworked by YES ("Into the lens") was beautiful. The version is here, less subtle, less rich. However, we can appreciate its simplicity electronic (his only presence would make me still recommend listening to the CD). The good news is undoubtedly the new titles appearing on this extended version (12 tracks including 12 inch mix of "I am a camera" - better than the album version). There are the faces b of singles (which were on the Japanese version) but it's the new titles that seem most interesting. "We can fly from here" (part I and II), "Dion", "riding a tide" are soft and melodic, making me think (but not entirely comparable) to "Architechture and Morality" of MDGs. "Videotheque" is very close to the first album. Even "walking on glass" (demo of "Lenny"), simpler, more successful than the album version.
