Paris Kills (Audio CD)

Customer Review

With "Paris Kills" the now 7 longplayer Finnish Gothheroen is beautifully packaged in our design selected CD stores. This is not quite right, The 69 Eyes are still flown until after the cooperation with Roadrunner Records in German homes, more specifically with their album "Wasting The Dawn". First, it has reached German soil and "Paris Kills" also takes the first reference it, as well as to its direct ancestors "Blessed Be". Trilogy called the educated such a body of work and that's it, no doubt.
Were still geschrummelt angry guitars in the early days, which are to be found in the early 90s and rocked sleazig so began the latest with "Wasting The Dawn" the entry into the civilized gothic rock genre that for what the bleak dressed gentlemen as were delivering once did Europe had no name. But what is not, that is, and so began the boarding international soil, the era of The 69 Eyes Goth'n'Roll. A fine blend between known calm, ponderous and harmonious Gothic paired with eagerness and volume of guitars and drums. Will say a nearly perfect harmony complemented by the depth and heartbreaking voice of Jyrki 69th
Or so it was until here. But what has changed with "Paris Kills"?

A Lot. Even more intensively than ever before are the actual song structures in the foreground, each instrument assigned to the common good under. It's about sound, not to solos. The focus of this sound garment is Jyrki who complains yet soulful and yet melodic at the microphones.
What he has to say? There are no threads in the true sense, but rather a tendency, and this is called Paris, city of glamor and fashion. And that feeling, what already flickering in the form of "Mulin Rouge" on the cinema screens and earlier rises in every Paris visitor or later has been packed from The 69 Eyes in musical form. Experienced and learned from numerous guest DJ visits in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, if not the world, in the dark Gothic heart beats faster. But as I said, it's just an indication.
"Dance d'Amour" is the first single, a warm love song in the best 69 Eyes style. "Dance with me into the night ....", an invitation which would many a female fan happy to oblige.

The mental continuation of "30" of the previous album "Blessed Be" can be found in "Radical" again. No regret of past youth, but conscious life in old age. If you want to call early 30s as old
