For housing:
+ HTC One feels very classy thanks to aluminum. The downside is the sensitivity. You should place it on a soft surface it always; Foils as protection not really lend themselves to (aluminum paste ?!), the cover itself is also not changeable (eg as in the Galaxy S4).
+ I had no processing defects how many they describe or poor gaps, and satisfied in the point. Only the caption 'Beats Audio' on the back looked despite new device from tapped
- There is no real menu switch. Place would be in addition to the home and back button entirely. This one has to replicate in many Apps a black bar below the display, only this button software.
The sound:
+ The speakers are just terrific. Volume and sound are comparable with medium to better notebook speakers
The display:
+ Very good color representation, under normal circumstances, quite bright and sharp
- In direct sunlight legibility unfortunately * not * transflective display, such as the iPhone. ME it will take nothing with the Galaxy S4.
- The display is as under a paper-mm wafer-thin, thin barely sighted grid. While this is only visible from certain angles, bothered me anyway.
The Software:
+ Overall very clean and tidy, especially the phone app I have found to be clearly
, Blink feed is not for me (unnecessary traffic), but can be 'slide to the side' (you can 'the' side of the Home screens define yourself)
, it is supposed to come on a 4.2.2 update, I had 4.1. A swift upgrade policy, it is nevertheless not you read in relation to other HTC models also of a certain inertia.
Sound quality when making calls:
- Not as good as expected, especially in Simyo (E +) no. In Congstar (D1), the sound was good. The Galaxy S4 I feel in both networks as better.
Reception:
- I have the one mainly used by Congstar; Fortunately, there is also LTE (only to 7MBit, but still). This jumped the reception but frequently between Edge, 3G, HSDPA and LTE back and forth, unfortunately also with interruptions during network transition.
The Camera:
- Absolute disaster because the autofocus does what he wants. Especially for long distances, but macros are great and show the existing potential of the camera
- The backlight sensitivity is poor, fast lights are overexposed. Compared to the iPad Mini for example just disappointing.
Battery life:
- When I use the HTC One had to go about 17 hours to the charger (comparison Galaxy S4:> 36 hours)
- Charging takes without it to use about 3 hours (I feel as long; compared Galaxy S4 with there included power supply 2 hours)
My Conclusion:
HTC is a lovely 'One' succeeded. However, the outer shell is made of aluminum but not quite as convenient as it is thought in the first moment (compelling need for wraps, films do not make sense in the back). The brilliant sound is certainly a unique selling point. But at other points annoy oddities like the missing menu button, the poor standby time and the bad sound when making calls. The now as a replacement is managed by me Samsung S4 pleases me better, however, it is thinner than the HTC and thus certainly not deteriorated by the handiness forth, and acts of sophisticated and elaborate.
