Nice Music

In February, the new board of the ten-member roots reggae and ska band from Austria appeared. Since the band was completely unknown to me, I am at what level BAREFOOT BASEMENT move stretched himself.

From the first track Lawrifari is clear that I definitely missed something. Stylish and with audible joy to the respective instruments is this track a successful opener. I think you can guess from the first seconds that make the other 12 tracks on the disc entertaining. With the track Ska Circus BAREFOOT BASEMENT is a clever mix of traditional ska, elaborate brass riffs and accordion offbeat succeeded. Through the solo parts show the musician / inside that they are masters of their respective instruments. Long live the circus and I love this track. Up to the eighth track Greetings From Afah, which was recorded with the vocal support of Hans Wagner, is entirely to instrumental tracks. I find this fact positive, as here, among other things far also demonstrate the technical skills of generously applied effects and can focus. With their mix of ska, reggae, hip hop, folk and domestic Balkan sounds, it is the band certainly create on one or the other festival in this country.

Conclusion: From me there for this album a thumbs up and I'm talking from a buy rating. The musical stories told by the band on Storyteller, are not just tales but have hand and foot.
