I have 2 days before the Mai 7490 and was an old FRITZ! Box users (previously 7170) naturally excited about what can make this box. I used to have a Gigaset base connected via S0 at the Fritz box - now I've gone one step further and have 3 MT-F Fritz phones purchased, I wanted to run on the box. A critical testers is my wife who told me on the second day that she hears a permanent noise or static, which was really annoying. The tips ECO DECT and reduction off the radio range have not helped. Even the non-firmware update. My Fritz box sitting in the attic (simple wooden floor) and must spark over 2 floors. But it is placed over the open stairwell, so actually only 2 walls, which must overcome them. A phone call to the support has not helped also.
In short, an important purchase reason was the DECT telephony over FRITZ for me! Box. According to support, it is not a pure hal DECT base, therefore you have to live with swabs or get a repeater. That makes no sense to me, so I have the box, unfortunately again send back.
Also, I was hoping that in the growing age of network cameras support the new 7490 PoE (Power over Ethernet). This is unfortunately also not the case.
A product with potential, but the coverage problems speak against this box.
