I am truly not a big user of video games of all kinds, but I must admit that the developer has designed here George fan here has a huge addictive.
In Plants vs. Zombies (original: Plants vs. Zombies) you have to defend his house against hordes of zombies approaching. The tactic here looks like that one puts them plants in the way, who do all the zombies in the best case. Manages, however, a zombie penetrate into the house, then you are even done.
If one now thinks of George Romero, then it all sounds pretty scary, but it is not because the Zombies graphically rather match the child pattern and thus usually look cuter than some grim-looking counter plant.
Due to its richness of detail, the game will not get bored; On the contrary, the fun never dies:
- In the main mode, which is called adventure that zombie plague comes either by day or by night, tried their luck through the front yard and the front door or by the swimming pool and back door or across the roof and chimney (HoHoHo!).
- The group of attackers always consists of one determined by the system, selecting from the - from existing 26 types of zombies - Zombie Pool. Each zombie type, from cuddly Wicht to mighty Gargantua, has his own abilities and strength.
- Plants used for defense are determined at the beginning of each round, the player from a pool of 49 types. Each plant type has its strengths and weaknesses.
- With each turn is happening is more complex. On the 1st level you have to defend, for example, only one layer of turf, later the whole meadow. Behind the house is still aggravating the pool added, because not all zombies are non-swimmers or wasserrscheu, not to mention the nasty zombie dolphin. On the roof, finally, you can not plant directly, but must still place a flowerpot before.
- While you will be attacked by a wave zombies after another, you can not use the defense out indiscriminately, but must earn this by collecting suns. By day fall from the sky or -sinnigerweise- produced from sunflower. At night this task is carried out sun mushrooms.
- As the game progresses you learn then Crazy Dave know, a crazy zombie expert who has rebuilt the trunk of his car to a shop. From it you can relate, for example, such useful things as raking, pool cleaners, gramophones, grain or catapults Nußverbandskästen at unbelievable prices.
- During a raging battle it happens that as a zombie sometimes drops the odd coin from the zerschlissenden pocket. The collecting of better, because Crazy Dave accepted neither crossed checks or credit cards - only cash laughs.
- Still good advice: While you should not simply dismiss as the rather cryptic hints of Crazy Dave, you have to be more careful with orthographic innovative writing prompts.
- There are 50 levels, where you get the last person to do it with Dr. Zomboss. Feige as he is, he brings his mighty big Zombot which not only throws for a whole caravan, but can also spit fire and ice. If one then has no Eispilze and chillies at hand, it will quickly close :-)
- Survived the one, you get presented as a reward from the video ZOMBIES ON YOUR LAWN. The song was composed by George fans girlfriend Laura Shigihara and she sings it himself.
As a tribute to George Romero the game should actually LAWN OF THE DEAD hot. Of these, one has then refrained, however otherwise not saved with pop culture quotations.
Gradually, then more game modes are unlocked.
In MINIGAMES mode, there are, among others challenges with the titles:
- ZomBotanik (Dr Zomboss genetic experiments lead to plant-zombie hybrids)
- Nut Bowling (With Walnuts onrushing zombies umkegeln)
- Slot machine (you have the plants at one-armed bandits win)
- Zombiquarium (drift Floating Zombies With Brains feed)
- Beghouled (Bejeweled with zombies)
- Portal Combat (of zombies and dimensional gates)
- Hau den Zombie (With a mallet rennende Zombies flattening)
- Ghostly (attack of invisible zombies)
- Rows of zombie old people (a large-scale attack on the roof with the entire plant rows encounter)
- The Last Stand (One gets 5000 suns on the hand that you as better uses)
As if that were not enough rotting meat was there even the PUZZLE mode. This includes variations of two games:
- Vasebreaker (Here vases must be broken, which may be located in both plants and zombies The former have to set strategic in order to completely exterminate the latter.)
- I, Zombie (Zombies You have to help an array of defensive plants to overcome in order to enjoy the underlying brains can)
The next game mode is survival and provides infinite current situations of the mode ADVENTURE. In order to select the topics DAY, NIGHT, POOL, FOG and roof are available in various degrees of difficulty.
Another mode is Zombatar! Here you have the opportunity to throw a glance at Dr. Zomboss laboratory and to tinker his own zombie types. Funnily enough the kick, after saving, then also in play mode adventure (Note the support of the regiment flag, the last wave of attacks ahead of).
The last mode is called Zen garden and is engaged in the purchase and sale as well as the care of plants. The entire complex consists of four gardens:
- Garden 1 (Intended for flowers, fruits and vegetables)
- Garden 2 (scheduled for fungi and nightshade)
- Garden 3 (Meant for emergent and submerged aquatic plants)
- Garden 4 (location of the tree of wisdom)
There are even more features and gimmicks that I know not the call in detail here.
Perhaps more important, the game can save the score several single player.
Conclusion:
This game has a high fun factor and is not only of interest to biologists, as one might suspect, but attracts whole families in its spell.
The cartoon-like zombies scare anyone, unless one is afraid even before salmon bread.
It encourages tactical skills because you have to leave for any combination of attacking zombie types come up with an appropriate response in the form of defending plants.
The gameplay is almost self-explanatory. In principle, you can while playing at all times remain relaxed, but not too loose, otherwise suddenly the message: Zombies have your brain.
The game has already won several awards and rightly so.
