Thus, there should be a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact are. Here, Sony's claim to bring the good workmanship and the strong features of the Z1 in a compact format. What's broadly succeeded.
Style:
Through the aluminum frame, the device looks sturdy and also elegant. You can tell this easily on weight. There is "something" heavier in the hand than the S2, which in my opinion is only positive. The display bezel up and down is maybe a bit too big, but not really disturbing. All ports and card slots are hidden behind waterproof flap.
The volume buttons and power button are located on the the right side and would, in my opinion may be slightly larger. It is a bit strange to use them because they are a bit hard to press by their small size. But you get used to it quickly. Optical All in all a great success.
Display:
Light Stark, read even in bright sunlight well, and razor sharp.
In addition, the phone offers a glove to the mode in winter can operate the phone even with the glove.
Tested it was not due to the currently prevailing summer temperatures!
So far, no reason to complain.
Power:
The claim the power of its big brother Z1 to pack into a small package was implemented to 100% of Sony here.
With its 2.2 Ghz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, the Z1 Compact runs smoothly and stable. Web pages load very quickly and well Apps do not need great load times but start immediately. Even in everyday use I can find as good as any Microruckler. The only moments in which one can see a short charging time is when you re-enable the phone in STAMINA mode. But that is quite simply because that is activated when you resume the WLAN again and thus my widgets to be updated on the homescreen. But that happens in a flash, so you can not really complain about here.
Camera:
First of all: The problems with the LED flash or reflect the back (who like many others complained here) I could find with me at any time.
The camera takes sharp and good (for a smartphone) images, both good, and bad lighting conditions. This is similar no quality of a DSLR here expect it was clear from the outset, and to make for my needs sometimes a few good shots (especially on vacation) extends this camera over from. But I also always take pictures in manual mode and never with the superior automatic.
Software:
The Z1C comes factory-equipped with Android 4.3, but updated immediately when set on 4.4 Kitkat. Therefore, a common and well-to-use environment for me.
The Sony GUI, so the surface of Sony I find very pleasant because they do not greatly differ from the actual Android interface. It can be well adapted to the personal requirements, without being overloaded. Unlike Samsung's Touch Wiz, the device is not as strong littered with in-house software, and the pre-installed Sony apps can be uninstalled easily or at least disable than other manufacturers.
Battery:
Unfortunately, permanently installed. But otherwise very impressive performance. Thanks to the sensible Stamina function (when the display is all background apps and wireless / mobile Internet, but which are immediately turned on again when you resume disable) the battery lasts me loose for 3 days at normal use by. I write some text, the phone every day for about 30 minutes and write again to FB and via Whatsapp. Thus, the device also has the evening of the 3rd day a few percent still (~ 10%) to battery. In my "old" S2 the battery was from the beginning after one day charge in need.
Therefore, a really good performance.
Reception / call quality:
At the reception so far I could not fault it. WLAN is detected quickly and the connection works without problems. Even the normal network coverage is very good. The reception with mobile internet is clearly better than the S2.
Call quality is loud and clear.
Other / additional functions:
-The Phone is dust and splash water protected. But what for me not buying criterion was nevertheless a nice bonus. I tested it (as in various videos with a glass of water but prefer not ;-)).
-Thanks To the battery-saving features, the duration increases significantly.
Although -The glove mode has yet to be tested, however, should this work is really great. That is a manufacturer makes this idea I have not seen before.
-The Device supports all major networks, which one should be 3 years old on the date the next 2,.
-Zudem The device has an NFC chip.
-The Memory extension works no problem thanks to the card slots. Memory card was detected at me immediately, and I was able to move to this unnecessary ballast.
Negatives:
- Fiddly side keys (slightly on the small side)
- Slightly wider frame around display
- AC power connector behind one of the doors. (Ching but due to the water-tightness of the device not otherwise)
Have solved by a docking station, with which you then by means of the magnetic connector at this "problem" but
Load left comfortably and easily can (!!!)
Conclusion:
In this price range and size, there have been no comparable instrument for me. For all other devices of this size is unfortunately skimp on hardware and equipment, for the same price. More powerful equipment there is therefore only in the 5 inch (+) class but what I regard as impractical.
Thanks to the (so far) good processing, the liquid velocity and the useful and meaningful additions of Sony, for me a tolltes smartphone and highly recommended.
Some small flaws make me the little fiddly buttons (power, volume), which could have been easily able to make bigger, the little generous frame around the display.
This is bleating on a very high level! All in all a great and fast device at a reasonable price.
Can anyone of the smartphone but still likes handy not want to compromise on performance.
Earned 4.5 stars because of the mini mini minimal defects!
