The dock is connected via the supplied USB cable and power supply.
A green light confirms the USB-Contact, a blue active power - is also behind a power button.
I use the Inateck dock under Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64bit.
I have been three different SATA magnetic disks connected thus: WD Velociraptor, WD Green RE4GP and a Seagate Barracuda 7200th
All three were easily recognized and worked at the dock properly.
The maximum speed that I could achieve with it was just under 120MB / s.
Although this is less than the 160MB / s, which were achieved with the plates in the same operation on the internal SATA port,
but at eye level to my StarTech dock at the same USB3 output.
The SATA connectors are firmly and immovably on the right side.
No problem for normal 3.5 "hard drives, awkward for 2.5" hard drives that are centrally installed on 3.5 "heatsinks.
However, this is almost all docking stations that.
Conclusion. A compelling and relatively quick docking station that makes no big hole in your wallet ..
Built a bit more robust and a more arresting cover would have been desirable.
