More gratifying is that the products of Tatonka are still available here at Amazon, and that you also find among them what is sorely lacking for over two years at the outdoor specialist: a carry case for 4 to 5 inches Device with a aspect ratio of 1: 2.
Even before almost two years I had to find problems for combining Samsung Galaxy S + with Otterbox a matching bag. I found what I was at Jack Wolfskin E Wraptor with M. But what I was already noticed that it still gave the E Wraptor in S but not in L. Great, I thought to myself, and now what do the people who bought when I was a still larger unit? Now two years have passed. The E Wraptor is still available in a maximum of M, but my current device is a Nexus 4 - which is not quite as big as a Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4 - and it does not fit with a Seidio Active Case really in the E Wraptor M.
One finds in his quest yes so all kinds Gürteltaschen from different areas. The last time I was only on the part of military and security equipment suppliers go. But one there wears well preferred small items or large appliances with an aspect ratio of 3: 4 around with you.
The only nearly perfect product I encountered was the Tatonka Neopren Zip Bag. Since I still dispose of the past decade through a large collection of belt bags made by Tatonka, for me it was almost a matter of course that I still buy this product also do so.
Neoprene is nice but the old nylon bags I liked better. The belt loop on the back was in the old pockets better Kevlar, with openings through which you hardly got the belt, so that the bag was stuck on the belt. The back of neoprene zip bag with the narrow nylon strap is against rather flabby. Perhaps more portable to a wide belt coupling; I am considering to change my belt.
The old bags have Velcro fasteners, which taught me as a zip-worshipers better. Although the Velcro patches on the sides ausfransten times, the barnacles hold until today. The zipper of neoprene zip bag is occasionally something hakelig what is probably because that the bag is not attached to the belt, and thus gives the zip movement.
The bag carries on not particularly thick, but as a kind of air cushion: I put my hand on the lying on the table in front of me pocket and the air therein press out, the bag only has a thickness of less than 2 cm. Once I take the hand off the bag she sucks back full air and inflates to a thickness of 3.5 cm. In this state, it has a width of 10.3 cm and a height of 15.8 cm. My phone fits together sleeve with dimensions of 14 x 7.5 x 1.8 cm loose in the pocket, where the bottleneck sits on top of the zipper: Had the zipper on both sides even one centimeter further pulled down, so you have the entire width of the pocket as an opening is available. But as the zipper ends already in the curvature of the upper edge and a maximum width at this point I measure almost 8 cm. The maximum amount I would assume 14.5 cm, while a height of 15 cm located at the corners already in the area of the zipper.
I am satisfied so far on my part with the Tatonka Neopren Zip Bag. And Now that I have written this review, even a little more. Clearly: There are some areas for improvement. However, given the lack of alternatives on the market and the otherwise well-made bag a real buy recommendation - if the dimensions match.
Neoprene - but is something different.
EDIT from 25.01.2014:
The zipper has repeatedly times "gefuttert" the hem of the zipper tape. Therefore I have today taken UHU force and thus the tape adhered to the underlying neoprene. The overhanging edges I have cut off with scissors and then with a lighter merged the fringes. Hope that the holding and that the jammed zipper now belongs to the past.
For a better fit of the bag I bought a paddock two months ago: Bianchi - I can only recommend.
EDIT from 1.3.2014:
The bond holds and the zipper no longer jammed.
EDIT from 12.10.2014:
Still everything was okay. Holds, day in and day out. Am satisfied.
