Originally purchased as a cheap alternative for a Philips Wake Up Light, the AEG Alarm Clock has completed its task only partly. The processing, ergonomics and design looking very pleasing for the price - the whole thing is really good; but when it comes to make a gradual slow-growing with increasing alarm sound and light, the failed part. On the one hand there is between light switching, ie from darkest to brightest setting just 4 steps, and on the other hand these are then passed already in less than 30 seconds. The whole is accompanied by a noise generator fabricated mushy in 4 variants in fast increasing volume. Mach Gag Keychain can reproduce this sound scenes better and identifiable. Sorry pleasant awakening is another way, though - you will be awake anyway.
Radio sound is acceptable - Ringer typical tinny - but only one transmitter to adjust without memory. Light comes from LEDs 6 and thus has a cool white color and is not nearly as bright as the light at the Philips Wake Up Light.
As an alarm clock with light is the part OK. As Philips alternative - no serious comparison.
