After more than 1.5 years, during which I heard the album very often, I think now, to be able to give a proper review. First of all: It's a pretty good album. Most U2 fans also seem to be diebezüglich agree, although it of course, and not without reason that some critics are. The first single "Get On Your Boots" was somewhat difficult for me to digest. "Beautiful Day" made me 2000 on U2 fan. "Vertigo" was at No. 1. Had these been specifically was already taken into account in the American charts for weeks in the download charts, as now, the Irish had at least one other top recorded 10 hit in the US. With GOYB to U2 not really managed a basis to attract new fans. Much better would be there as "Magnificent" or my personal favorite "Unknown Caller" been. Quite outstanding is "Moment of Surrender" that already puts me almost in a trance-like state. The remaining songs are audible but not tear me from the stool so as Bono from my point of view with his voice a little exaggerating. By that I mean specifically the Oh-Oh-Oh passages. Ultimately, however, I forgive 5 stars as U2 have omitted here very large experiments such as in "Zooropa" or "pop", and no song have delivered, which is really bad.
