Handle only just received, unpacked and running basic test. Therefore, on the fly once only the first impressions: Processing: * Fit on the 5D III is OK, but not excellent. Bottom right when connected to the handle, it is slightly higher than, about 0.5mm - does not bother me in the hand but * Material: Plastic, acts sufficiently stable, "leathering" rubbery, be OK attacks, smells (new) something, but very / if you take up close it to his face, to see through the viewfinder, but not very bad I hope it's gone after a few days. * Stability: the floor is built inside a solid metal plate, which was also secured the tripod socket. The tripod thread (top and bottom) are cut clean, no problems. The knurled wheel for attachment to the camera is significantly thinner, less stable and has more game than the Canon original, but you can still tighten well. Overall, it is not really rigid. If it is really stable and precise pass and / or have a heavier lens is attached without tripod mount on the camera, I personally do not put it on the battery grip on the tripod, but the camera directly (with L-angle). * Like the original, there is the built-in space for accommodating the bottom cover of the 5D III * There are two inserts for batteries or AA here. Both fit, can be taken well and push and lock. The small pool on the locking door "rattles minimal". * 2 Original Canon LP-E6 battery pack can easily insert and remove, snap and make contact. Battery charge level indicator in the camera does (still) normal. AA rechargeable batteries / batteries, I have not tried yet, but expect also no problems. * All the controls on the handle to function as intended. The AF target Wählnippel is something "labbriger stored" as of on the camera itself but it occurs no change in sensitivity or response of the nipple -. Also not on the camera. The dial is locked and does not go too hard or easy. Functionally, all as intended. * Electrically I ask for now determined no special features. Battery consumption at idle or when the handle is turned, I'll keep an eye on time.
* Handle, packaging and documentation [Chinese / English] have no brand name, only the type BG-1J. It's Me: Travor handle, which is offered at much higher prices also under other names [eg Quenox]. * Price: almost unbelievably good [29.90 + 1.98 shipping] * Shipping: extremely fast, ordered Friday evening, Monday sent. Packaging: Product box in plastic envelope, inside bubble wrap. Adequate if not very roughly handled it on the transport.
