Well, the Lumia series had I always liked and awakened in me the desire to buy such a device and test times. I found always managed the design of the first devices that I saw. And I was always clear when a Windows Phone, then one of Nokia! I was convinced of Samsung, my S2 was just new and then there was the new Lumia 800, with WP7, which I had considered but then did not buy (not needed yes 2 mobile phones and the price then was my only the curiosity is too high). Then soon the Lumia 900 was announced, this then I wanted to buy, but also the increasingly broad and indeed so far that the Lumia 920 was announced, new with WP8. That I bought when it was time to replace my Samsung. And this device I have - despite all the rigors and also the nerve it took me - very liked and would still happy with it, if Nokia had not been sold to Microsoft.
Although it was difficult to me that 920 to replace after only a year, but I wanted the "last Nokia" necessarily have the last phone that was designed, built and marketed by Nokia (which later appeared Lumia 730 u. 830 operate Although still in "Nokia", but have been produced under Microsoft) - a mobile phone / smartphone is on the "Microsoft", I will not buy, I hope, therefore, that the Lumia hold out for a while.
Just this, Nokia has here - in my opinion - everything again tricked to engineering and know-how, which the company had to offer.
The unit offers:
- Great hardware. With a - for Windows Phones - totally oversized processor and generous RAM it runs incredibly fast and reliable. And that it is still in many years; currently there is no / little applications that really ausreizen the device.
- Great display. Some have problems with flickering, or colored stripes. I have something not, but I would also totally annoyed. So I am happy. Great colors, sharp crack, and - despite OLED - even in sunlight readable.
- I find Windows as a surface on mobile phones really great (on the PC but not). The homescreen, I completely can put together individually according to my needs me, with apps, with links to sites with contacts, with notes, with .... etc., etc.. Is the most customizable Start Screen all mobile systems for me.
- Microsoft services. The connection to OneDrive to Office, OneNote on, the X-Box, everything is interlinked, and seamless and work top.
- The camera is really top notch and the best I've ever seen in the mobile space - brilliant sharpness and beautiful colors. After the last update also videos in 4K resolution. I have not tried it yet, but so far could not convince me as the video player because the autofocus constantly nachregelte sharpness. Hope this has now hinbekommen MS. And the camera triggers not very fast, Microsoft is working on making something to improve in the next update.
- Plus the Nokia services. Mixradio Here and applications, including worldwide offline maps. I personally find even better than Google Maps, but is a matter of taste. But for this a very fast and highly accurate satellite fix, in large buildings (eg large shopping centers, airports, etc.) with indoor navigation.
- I still want to mention positive processing. The curved glass, the metal frame, the noble back with the total grippy feel to the touch (though it's plastic, but much better than before). Although metal is installed (even inside) and the device has a relatively high weight, it is an absolute flatterer. This product i in the hand and can be even-handed use (okay, I have big hands).
- Windows Phone has become otherwise adult. Meanwhile, many apps available that did not exist previously, the Message Centre, the quick settings, the really informative lock screen, etc.
- At first I had concerns about the one loudspeaker on the back. Only mono - in my opinion, already disappointing for a Flaggship device - but the sound that comes out of it is quite tired. And even if the device is on the back, hardly what is "swallowed" by the sound. I have no idea how who constructed it, but it works.
- Some features are also not yet commonplace. The Lumia can be wearing gloves use (as a technology can eigl. Only from Finland come ;-)), wireless charging by induction and waking by "double-tap" has not invented LG, Nokia had already 2 years ago.
- The L930 has a built fitness sensor, provides the connection to all these extra utensils you can buy to can be monitored even more. I do not need it, but it should be mentioned here.
What I still ill regurgitates a little, but my enthusiasm for the device can not reduce:
- When the battery and memory Nokia would MMN not have to be so stingy. Although enough, the battery reached during the day and 32 GB of memory should be enough, but as a power user you often comes up against its limits. Windows Phone is quite frugal As for what battery and consumption of resources, but SD card and 10-20% more battery could be in there.
- The reception is - with what do I know and compare - good, but not very good. I know so not from Nokia, something am disappointed. Call quality is always top and crystal clear.
- The elimination of "Glance Screen", is probably the OLED used and can probably not be retrofitted via software. Have now got used to me though, but that was always a great feature on the 920s.
- The front camera is lousy. Anyone who needs the "Selfie" -Zeitalter, it should be noted.
- Windows Phone still has a few limitations. Nested and confusing settings menus, certain things that just do not go, or only with difficulty. I come with the device and the system's orientation, but sometimes annoy me those "little things".
The bottom line is a remarkable device, but I certainly also see through rose-colored glasses and therefore can forgive nothing but 5 star ;-)
