After the eulogies in chip testing and the partly euphoric reviews here I ordered this camera, but so much I anticipate they could not convince me. I tested the camera with the latest firmware and the kit lens (also latest firmware). As a father, I am looking for a camera that focuses quickly and also makes in Inne rooms during the day without flash photos and sharp as possible in the evening under artificial light. Since many languages from a low-light experts at the A-X1, I have accessed. The operation is self-explanatory. One gets along immediately. The lowlight capabilities, however, are ambivalent. The low noise up to ISO 6400 is both impressive, other hand, already falls on FullHD monitor on without zooming in, the software smoothes here vigorously. That the Chip Editor on "purely falls" is quite interesting. If you reduce the noise reduction, are interior photos on good APS-C level. However, the autofocus is not the fastest, so photos are often blurred by the children. A very big problem of X-A1, however, that the auto focus from a certain darkness überhaput nothing finds (even when the AF-assist illuminator), so you can not take pictures with switched-flash (unless you focus manually). For parties, bars and other night-time events, the camera is therefore unsuitable. At the point should also be noted that the images turn out quality not very good with flash. They clearly show less detail than images of my PM1 with flash. Exterior in daylight, of course, as expected, very good. The autofocus sits precisely, objects are beautifully isolated.
Several times I have read criticism due to the plastic case. I can not understand. The build quality is absolutely top quality. All seat another perfectly and securely. For my taste buttons and Zoom are however even a little too stiff. The plastic ribbing on the housing is a bit slippery, so the camera is not optimal in the hand.
Check final results is also to say that the images are basically greenish. Notice this at the test images on Chip.de and confirmed in their own images. Surely you can adjust all; but nice ists halt when the images are the same tidy.
Conclusion: If you primarily photographed quiet objects will be well served with the unit. For the price range it's great processed, has a good size and makes good pictures. As a family they Knipse contrast is simply too slow. Basically the device would have assigned 4-5 stars, but that the autofocus is nothing in low light conditions (even after minutes not) is unacceptable. Hence 3 stars.
