Not for people who want to just buy a Receiver - Perfect for those who invest the time and the perfect device want!

It should be this box already much written, so I can only add my voice to what has been said and probably nothing new.
I got delivered the Box 4 days ago and now 14 hours intensively occupied myself with it.
Conclusion: I am thrilled completely !!!

It is -if you something can not be compared with conventional receivers thus beschäftigt- (I had a Technisat Digicorder HDS2).
The options and functions offered by this device, are so extensive that any attempt to describe them is doomed to failure.
My Technisat's certainly been not a bad receiver, but compared to the Duo2 he has no chance. It's as if I would compare the Kreisklasse with the Bundesliga.

It is important that -as already in many cases also here at Amazon described-the box nothing for people is looking for a receiver that you want to just turn on and use. Although the factory-playing software works, but is very badly done and a real disaster. Example: Although the language is set to "German" in some menus are in English.
The documentation that comes is a joke and does not help further.
Until then, the box has earned a maximum of one star.

But:
I liken this box like with a computer. That's without the appropriate software and stupid! Equipped with the right operating system, a computer can be output potential unfold and are perfectly matched to the needs of the user.
So it is with this box also.
With the appropriate operating system (VTI) and the additional software (plugins) can mutate this box to penny!. There is nothing (except perhaps washing windows, because that I have not yet found the appropriate plugin), what they can not!
The problem of it is that you can not just buy a book and read.
Because the possibilities and additional programs are so varied there is no other option but to register in a Vu + -Forum and hours researching a new user.
In this forum, however, you find all the information in order to set up the box. You also get answers all questions very quickly. But all this takes time. The you just have to invest.

If you have done that the box is absolutely perfect and with a variety of functions to which you have not thought in his wildest dreams.
However, it must also be said that some of the features of the add-on software programs are not really documented. You have to just try it (much before making a backup!). For example, has the plugin LCD4Linux where it "only" to the setting of the left display is, about 1,500 (!) Setting !!!
And that's just one of a number of plug-ins that you installed on such a box.

So, in summary "Stay away" for those who do not have time, do not like to experiment or even do not have a technical understanding.

"Access" for all those who want to have a perfect receiver with a number of additional options and are willing to invest a few hours time.

A special highlight for me is -next to the many features and display options of Box of access and the associated ease of use the box on the PC, a tablet or mobile phone.
Programming a timer, edit folders, copy files, test settings, and change is very simple and clear possible.
Super is also the opportunity to strike up within minutes an old image (backup) again when times change, which have been made is not working as it should.

In summary, for me full 5 stars!

Update after one month of use:
I use the Duo2 now for about a month and would like to briefly add my gained during this time impressions:

- Resume: Buying this box was absolutely the right decision! The range of functions, which now is available to me is stunning and I could adjust the box even in many points on my individual needs, configuring or programming. There is nothing (!) More of what I would miss.

- After I -as described above, made in about 10 hours, the box had the extent that you fulfill my wishes coarse and much better work than my previous Technisat HD S2, I went in the following years because I like to tackle the intricacies to experiment a bit and also to realize the smallest remaining desires.
For example, I now the current weather always quickly available, the web cam in my house also by pressing a button on the screen or as an additional window in the corner and also some menus and screen images exactly as I want it for my place. I have separate folders for different recordings (eg movies, music programs, documentaries, ...), so you do not have to scroll through pages and pages of lists. All my private photos and videos I have also now playable at any time in the box and.

Not all changes I myself was always able to implement so as I wanted it. Which reminds me, the VU + -Forum on the Internet has helped super. Am I again made no progress, I have posted a question that (sometimes it only lasted minutes) always (!) Within a few hours was answered and has led to the solution.
There I was even a small change in additional programs programmed by users at my request, I could write it into my Duo2. Through this assistance and experimenting own I managed to realize all my "previous" requests on this box.

- The box is running absolutely stable in the recent period of use, has recorded each shipment correctly. Even four shots at the same time are possible!

- There were also crashes. But only if I've been experimenting. Never in the normal use! Even after a crash but the system after booting (20s) is again ready for normal. Even if a recording is running, it will be stored until the crash time and sets after booting normally again and continues drawing on.

- Of course -if you much herumexperimentiert- occurs when such experiments also to situations where the system no longer works as you want it, or hangs. Then the Duo2 simply switch the main power switch, it boots up again and plays the last saved version of the image (you should always create to experiment) again. Then (about 3 minutes) runs everything perfect again.

- It might now give the impression that one must constantly experiment on this box. Of course this is not so. As described above, you have a few hours later an absolutely super working system with many functions, certainly not the owners of conventional receivers. If one is then no longer looking for the last percent improvement, you can leave it all so and is a lot of fun in it. But whoever does not is satisfied with 97%, 98% or 99%, has rauszuholen all possibilities the last percent out of the box. And if you like playing around, because it's fun, has an infinite pitch available.

Cons: there are disadvantages in the Box?
If you want to find something, you can always find something. Of course it needs -as already often described-some training time.
For this you will be rewarded richly!
Crashes, malfunctions, ... As described above, the box works perfectly. Of course, it crashes sometimes when I around to experiment wildly. But my very -ansonsten sicheres- car drives against the guardrail when I drive at 100 km / h in the 90 degree turn.
So from my point of view there are no real disadvantages.
The only little thing that strikes me is that that if I record multiple programs simultaneously, while still angucke a video from the hard disk, it is possible that occasionally (perhaps 3-5 times each 1-2 seconds in a 90-minute film) artifacts incur when recording. I'll explain it to me so that of course the hard drive has to work properly when accessing multiple applications simultaneously on. As it can sometimes happen that a bit is transverse.
I can live with this super little thing, especially since it only occurs when multiple recordings simultaneously.

I would buy the box at any time and never want to have a receiver "off the shelf" !!!
