My WeTab (32GB 3G) I have acquired, after the operating system has been updated to 2.0. Before the device was not controllable.
In the media market, it has been enabled by WLAN, which lasted about 45 minutes. The subsequent power-up takes about 24 seconds.
Since then, more than 2 weeks have passed.
My requirements:
Each user has his personal requirements, which are filled with a variety of devices or other devices or are not met.
I need a Tablet PC that has a folder function, Flash plays, and displays all the popular formats and plays and also shows them to a wall without any problems using a beamer. And the best without paid apps.
The data transfer via various interfaces is an important criterion for me.
The thus other devices do not meet my needs, it naturally does not bad. They work in their own way quite excellent.
Since I as a lecturer at several renowned educational institutions work, I will also write this still what.
I turn now to the individual points:
Hardware / processing:
It affects me consistently coherent and well finished. No gaps, no creaks and wobbles. Here in my opinion should be reported to any criticism. The rubberized, non-slip case makes slipping almost impossible and the grip is already enjoyable.
Weight:
Who rumgeschleppt an around 5 kg Laptop previously, will designate the WeTab almost as flyweight. I have at no time problems with a kilo.
Software:
A problem child. At least came out to 2.0. In particular, the virtual keyboard has undergone from 1.0 to 2.0 a quantum leap and it is a delight to type short texts here. However, the software is still quite removed from -perfekt-. The system still has some stuttering and dropouts (despite powerful processor), which could be slowly eliminated times. Updates to eliminate the problem should come shortly. We wait and see if it really works.
Even the right-click and other features are missing or malfunction. Here, unfortunately, is the principle to name hope that future updates remedy.
The innovative thumb control and the Preview in Browser on the left edge is a big plus here.
Battery:
The biggest disadvantage of annoying partially genuine. He holds depending on the application example
(View multiple windows on, browse, office work, sift websites, short films, with me short by a total of six full load sequences and some times reloading) from 3 hours to 4.5 hours. At 4.5 hours of battery power, however, does not run much.
It must be urgently rectified. There is an announcement of 4tiitoo to improve power management by update. I expect, however, it is not much. Luckily the charging cable is long.
A more powerful battery would be desirable for the frequent charging annoying !!
Flash:
The Internet standard for movies is great and held small windows (eg. As youtube) runs it well. On NTV, it is but a jerky slide show with sound. This is totally unacceptable. 4tiitoo wants (or needs) REPLACE the hardware acceleration here.
Sound:
The sound comes only at full volume to advantage, but is relatively quiet and the sound quality is as cheap laptops (or does not sound tinny full). Luckily, you can connect boxes.
Fan:
At first you can hear nothing. After some time, he is quietly audible and sometimes it turns on.
Although he is temporarily clearly audible, but it does not bother me personally.
The perception, however, is different from person to person.
Connections:
A network connection for the charger, a mini HDMI port for HD playback (works), two USB ports (three out of four USB sticks are recognized), an SD card slot (my two cards are detected) and a Audio Connects to z. B. boxes (works) and a docking station connector (this is yet to come).
The connections do not wobble in the housing. Again, good workmanship.
Display:
The low point of view, if you tilt the device backwards, is not good, in fact. I have no problems.
Reasons: 1) I think it is usually just so that I can see well. 2) If it is not possible, I turn the device by 180 ° and the problem is eliminated.
The display is a short time full of fat fingers and it looks as if it had rained butter. Remedy creates a protective film that is reasonably grease resistant, easy to clean and also scratch resistant. Also, the display no longer reflects!
Rotation:
Rotation is functioning properly since 2.0. Short rotation, a pause for thought, where the screen is black and the picture is now completely rebuilt.
Multitouch:
Since 2.0 no longer a problem. Fun on the screen to rotate the images and zoom to zoom out /. In a slide show, it is very useful.
Multitasking:
An absolute must, which also works fine. However, with consequences: The more windows are, the faster the battery to its knees.
Folders function:
Again: A must for anyone who works with a lot of different documents with different formats. However, the opening is sometimes cumbersome, it sometimes does not work right away. Here it is necessary to remedy the situation.
3G:
Card in, Select Data, enter PIN, los. Selected data is memorized and it works beautifully. No matter where I was until now.
Apps:
A tragedy. Although several free -Apps- are there, the forward part only on the left, but there are also some very useful apps -echte- such. As OpenOffice or image viewer, gallery, video and music players, eBooks and Adobe Reader. These are all entirely free.
It will soon follow other Apps.
Accessories:
WeTab own accessories is missing completely, which I find quite sad.
No bags, no docking station (well that is still to come), not have their own protectors, no mice and keyboards with the company logo. You do not need perhaps as common accessories usually also works, but that can compete better.
Connecting projectors, mouse and keyboard presents no problems. For me, only the projector is important.
The WeTab at work (during lessons):
I have the Tablet PC in my classes and it works pretty well.
The bright neon lights and the real light through the large windows do not disappear the content on the screen. Here it is set to a quarter of brightness. However, the limited viewing angle is a bit cumbersome. Really it does not interfere.
What really bothers that it sometimes hooks during the operation. Fortunately only briefly.
The connection of a beamer for image / text / graphics presentation in popular formats smoothly. Small educational films plays the WeTab without problems.
Conclusion:
The WeTab is hardware down to the low battery very good. The limited viewing angles of the screen does not bother me.
In software terms, it is, however, clearly a construction site. Here a lot of work must still 4tiitoo tuck.
The device complies with almost all of my requirements and I hope that did not meet requirements will be supplied via updates. This will not work with the battery.
The recommended price is MMN after a little too high and hard on my pain threshold.
