Direct entry begins as a sort of countdown. Depending on dates and epoch leaves Newman his heroes list to the present and at the end "right now" himself, John Newman. The title track begins. That is in itself interesting, confident and an original beginning of the album.
"Tribute" is the track that starts as impressive and is also the title track of the album and one of my highlights. Newman just has a great voice that is with every other song ever clearer. "Love Me Again", the hit single "follows directly and" Losing "Sleep" and the new single "Easy" continue the line. No Aufall: On the contrary, he seems to be getting further increase.
His style is a catchy mix of soul, strings, piano, gospel, pop, and his trademark, his smoky, unique voice. I think also in the further course no track that has to be skipping. "Cheating", the impressive "Gold Dust" or having already reminiscent of film music "Goodnight Goodbye": Newman treat yourself and us not break ranks and a potential hit to the next.
"All I Need Is You" with its gospel choir is one of the major highlights of the CD.
Toward the end, he will be again very melancholy (even if the whole album has a melancholy impression). "Down The Line" sounds when he and Jim Morris Sion have somehow managed the path between the afterlife and the world to cross together to write a song and record. Newman can again play the entire uniqueness of his voice here.
"I Want To Break The Chains Of Life - With You By My Side" he sings in "Down The Line". Musically, he has probably already blown some chains, the future and the present belongs to him anyway.
"Nothing is good enough" he lets us know in "Nothing". If he's serious, I'm looking forward to his next album.
