This one she really out? Yes and no. Yes because obviously wants romance that follows a type scheme.
And not because even if the story of Gaby could be banal, 30, unemployed, on the verge of not being able to follow his bills. Yeah, the story of Gaby is commonplace, BUT what is not is Gabrielle herself, his behavior, to see things. Oh my god, this woman is crazy and could pass for an eccentric to the world. I admit that from the first pages, I said wow, Sophie, you do not in the lace there lol. Yet in the end, we discover a strong young woman, the heart on the hand, determined (stubborn?) That never ceases to surprise. When we send you graze, she reaches out and knows the word second chance!
Mr Bérail worth visiting too, improved look-alike of the beautiful Christian Bale (yes, I am a small woman) but fatche of, what character !! Arrogant, dismissive, angry, stubborn, cold and yet when you know his story, his life, his injuries, we understand! Now it has more than two priorities in his life, his work and his children but Gaby is going to show him that a new path is offered to him. They manage to borrow together despite their past bulky?
Yes there is not to quibble, the first highlight of this book are the characters! Gaby Adrien, through the twins Sophie and Paul Martin's ex Gaby, the enervating Miss Jane or the adorable domestic torque Rosa Louise and her husband, the emphasis at all!
The second highlight of the book is this narration in the third person, which allows us to navigate between the different characters. Many authors venture there and personally very few really get there in my eyes because I very rarely happens to be embedded with the characters. Not here, I sailed from one character to another as if I was in their head and I felt all the feelings, happy or sad, with them.
The story itself is compelling and addictive. Not once have I had wanted to shake Gaby, I lie not in fact, at the end I wanted to tell him: but WTF are you crazy? But hey if it had not done what Gaby would not after all! What's nice is that we not have the impression of losing our way as characters in some books! Not to Mr Bérail, do not suddenly become the dog on a leash held by the lovely Gaby, there is still impulsive and angry! Gaby still awkward and goofy!
Also be aware that this book is not to put in all hands, it contains explicit sex scenes. Very pretty scenes elsewhere, thank you Sophie not to ride the wave of low-end eroticism is vulgar and laughable!
If I had to give it a fault it would be an end can be a bit rushed, I would have appreciated a little more resistant Gaby !! And is also not pass the narration to Martin that ultimately we can strike a bit upcoming events!
Anyway I loved this book and I really hope not wrong about the protagonists of the next book in the style ^ _ ^
Oh and congratulations Sophia, Contemporary Romance will you look great!
