In early December 2012, I bought this battery for my EOS6D directly from Amazon, as on the manufacturer Hähnel Webpage full compatibility was advertised. Unfortunately, then no maturity was reported to the battery in the 6D. Upon request, the manufacturer has confirmed to me that newer batteries have a new software which ensures full compatibility. Hahnel exchanged my battery to immediately. The new HL-E6 battery is fully compatible and can also register in the 6D.
Class product and fast response of the manufacturer. I use Hahnel batteries for over 10 years and has never been disappointed. Longevity and performance comparable with the original battery.

PS: The communication via email with Hahnel was very good, fast friendly and competent (has replied on the same day.)
At Amazon, I had not complained because I initially wanted to inform the manufacturer.
