I bought this device for my mom for Christmas. They wanted to burn their main video for posterity on DVD. For this, the device is very well suited. One must at the beginning by default only the copy direction pretend (video to DVD), then just press the Dubbing button and everything goes his way. Completing the DVD is also somewhat understandable, so that the old woman is quite capable to cope with this task. The manual is not good to read, more confusing. If you want to realize finer points - set chapter, Title, delete chapters, merge parts, all this is a bit tedious. There are better menu navigation. But for simple operation: old videos to DVD without much Kleinkram the unit is very well suited even for Grandma. And the price is right. The machine takes DVD + and DVD- and DVD + RW, but not DVD DL. In DVD + it works best because it automatically formats the DVD here. DivX I have not tried yet. HW - FFM
