Blues, Rock'n'Roll, Soul: The J. Geils Band purposed from that first album opened the 70s to return to the simplicity of these febrile genres, leaving aside the illuminations of psychedelic Rock and complexities of progressive Rock. Between own compositions and reversals, the group size a journey with a knowledge and breathtaking intensity. Even today, this album (and its successors studio and live until 1976) remain true nuggets overflowing of this vital and dirty energy without which the Rock would be nothing. Alain Lavanne
