The starting point was the replacement of an old Logitech X540 5.1 system, though still convinced sonically and of the power, but simply makes the 5 satellite speakers with all its cables and the subwoofer under the desk for tangles, and also is quite a dust collector that. As a non-gamers and more normal PC users and listeners that was never really the perfect solution ... but as is so often what is possible must be tried.
So: "Simplify your PC speaker solution"! A simple 2.0 system upscale was needed, so the range 50-100 or slightly above.
Have lots of reviews read here on Amazon, taken more reviews on various sites, and the second ... Listen locally in a relevant known electronics market then the same price as here on Amazon, the Creative Labs T30 2.0 speakers with Bluetooth. The predecessor T20 was thereby temporarily also contemplated.
Here is the key point-like assessment of T30, alternative considerations later.
Positives:
+ Compact size, the width of a little less than 9cm still in typical PC speaker format for the left and right of the screen
+ Solid weight, powerful optics, makes already visually what her
+ From the sound certainly one of the best 2.0 PC speaker systems
+ The known of Creative bass, but also highs, and slightly stronger than the middle of T20 by the slightly larger midrange
+ Enough steam and air upward, if it is to be louder times (unfortunately no more information on Watt packaging or in the description, but certainly no less than the T20)
+ Beam angle of 10 ° is ideal when you're sitting in front of PC
+ Somewhat conservative, but still very very practical: the controls for volume, bass and treble on the unit, which is almost a unique feature of Creative, but a clear reason for the decision for the T30 (except the rich sound)
+ So you can regardless of soundcard and EQ settings already make a default setting (for example, reduce the powerful bass)
+ The rear AUX connection depends now on PC, can of course be used for other sources
+ Nice is the extra headphone jack on the front (but that have the most PC speakers)
+ The possibility of mobile phones and tablets to be coupled via Bluetooth then at the present time also almost a must, worked without problems with iPhone 5S and a Samsung Tab 7.
Neutral:
o clear chic is the black piano lacquer, of course it also attracts dust magically
o the with the automatic shut-off after 15 minutes without audio input has its pros and cons.
Addendum 2/20/15: when connected via Bluetooth is no automatic shutdown.
Negatives:
- Unfortunate that there are no coverage of the membrane as in the T20 more.
Alternative 1 (price-Tip): Who does not need a blue-tooth connectivity (or want something to spend less), would not hesitate to resort to the good old T20-ren of Creative, unrivaled for currently 59 a very good deal and in this price range.
Alternative 2 (Small): the smaller T10 and T12 of Creative sound good with surprisingly strong bass. But since currently for only a few euros more are the T20, I would recommend the little extra cost. For even less money, there are nice speakers, such as the Phillips SPA1260 / 12 2.0.
Alternative 3 (Bigger):. Who has space and possibly also want to spend a few euros more, can of course also normal active speaker or so-called studio monitors consider who then, most likely, the controls for volume,. bass and treble on the unit. Some of mine intuited or angelesenen devices in alphabetical order:
Behringer MS16 stereo monitor speakers, EDIFIER Studio R1280T 2.0 speaker system, Hercules XPS 2.0 60/80 DJ speaker system, Kurzweil KS-40, Microlab Aktivbox B77 2.0 PC speakers, Samson Media One 3a / 4a BT Multimedia speaker.
Alternative 4 (No Alternative): Bose Companion 2 Series III Multimedia Speaker System. Listen time in peace next to the T20 or T30, not the middle, a few ups and va no bass. Something like sound is created by rotating only louder, but something spatial as the Creative boxes.
Alternative 5 (an alternative): devil 2.0 PC / multimedia speaker system Concept B 20 Mk2 would be worth a try, but are almost 4cm wide.
The decision was then quite easy, although the alternatives of Group 3 may offer even more by the sound, but are a bit too big on the desktop. 2 and 4 were not an option. The decision then betw. T 20 and T30 fell on the newer T30 model of Creative. And it looks tidier now from: on, under and beside the desk.
CONCLUSION:
The little effort in finding paid off. The T30 speakers from Creative are one of the best classic PC 2.0 speaker systems on the market. Compact, strong and sound (still) affordable! The results earned 5 stars.
