Back to Sony Tablet Z. My first impression, wow that's thin and compared to the iPad easier. Thickness: 9.5mm iPad 3 - Tablet Z only 6.9 mm, making it the world's thinnest device on the market. Weight: iPad 3:.. 660 gr - Tablet Z 500 gr The Tablet Z can thus also longer hold fatigue, ensure there are only a few grams but these make the difference! Also, the rubberized back feels very grippy and comfortable. The housing is also to some extent waterproof, so do not panic if times tipping a glass of water near the tablet, there nothing can happen!
The display is top, high resolution 1920x1200 pixels and viewing angle stable from the side! The black is black and not gray. Here Sony has really a very good display installed and is in a tablet half the battle! The Sony display can easily be compared to that of the iPad 3 to shy away with, although it is not quite so high resolution. The colors and the viewing angles are comparable and therefore at a high level.
On not so high level unfortunately is the battery life, which lasts about 7.5 hours by Tablet with Wi-Fi browsing, here holds the iPad still much longer by, almost 9,5h. These details will of course vary depending on usage patterns.
Also I noticed that the display reflects heavily outdoors, but this is more a fundamental problem of almost all mobile devices. Do not drag it yet, so I have a vanity mirror it? One sees hardly anything on the display when you're out! What's that for a device that I want to use mobile? Love manufacturers why do not you get it out to provide the display with a light anti-reflection, I would sometimes like to use my phone, my tablet or my notebook effortlessly outdoors. Although there are mat films but these are far from optimal. I will surely not be the only customer with this request?
Well, back to the Sony Tablet Z ...
The Androidsystem runs pretty fast and smoothly, so the use of a tablet is fun! The processor, the Snapdragon S4 with 2GB RAM do a good job here. Currently running Android 4.1 but an update to 4.2 will soon be provided by Sony.
Positive is to expand the memory with the possibility Micro SD card, so the 16GB version actually goes all out. I have extended the tablet with a 64 GB card, that should be enough first, when the only one Ipad also would be so easy.
Charging the battery takes approximately just 6h (all links overnight from - Stamina mode).
Summary:
I would buy it again, I liked especially the colorful, high-contrast display and the fast and flowing current Androidsystem. Even for me was the easy memory expansion using a micro SD card a reason to buy. The feel of the device, the weight and the thin case I find very pleasant. Meanwhile, I'll take it into their own hands rather than my Ipad3, it is easier and Android 4.1 has been making significantly more fun.
As negative I feel less good battery life, here I expected a little more. Here you can through the so-called Stamina mode bring the tablet to ensure that all connections (WLAN, Bluetooth) are automatically switched off in order to save power when the display is off. However, you get so no alerts or emails. Nevertheless, the battery lasts in normal mode with extensive use one day by, acceptable to me because I use the device only home. Will feed certainly still room for improvement for the tablet, so some of the other reviewers have mentioned problems are eliminated also in terms of the update to Android 4.2.
A look at the competition in the Android camp: the first and only here is the Nexus to name 10. It has to name a comparable good quality, here are the high-resolution display, a modern and very fast processor and 2GB of RAM! After that first the Asus Transformer Infinity comes nothing, then maybe with high-resolution display and top Tastaturdock, but only with Tegra 3 chip and 1 GB RAM.
The awarding of stars takes place in regard to the competitors products at the present time 06/2013. Here I forgive nearly 4.5 stars (rounded up 5). Seen overall, the Sony Tablet Z is one of the best current Android tablets.
