One of the best pop albums ever

"Actually" is one of the very few albums, which I find every bit of good. The prevailing mood at "Actually" acts today almost entirely melancholic (except for "Heart"), because each piece has a right tune and tells a story. As "Actually" In 1987, nobody thought about it, of course, has done. Back then it was just a super album of (mostly) danceable hit singles ("One More Chance", "It's a Sin", "What have I done to deserve this" (with Dusty Springfield), "Heart" and "Rent" ) and beautiful ballads ("It could not happen here" and especially "King's Cross"). Today it is timeless. In their quality me some songs reminiscent of Burt Bacharach songs - evergreens precisely, as "Close to you", "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" and "Always Something There to Remind Me". Since then closes the bow to Dusty Springfield, which owes some of her early hits Burt Bacharach.
Whoever dismisses this music as synth pop, the Pet Shop Boys is not justified. "It could not happen here" have the PSB wrote with Ennio Morricone, and I think it's at least as nice as the "Love Theme" from "Cinema Paradiso".
After I had "Actually," even as a normal CD (as plate anyway), had this double album will be bought for the second CD, which contains mainly A and B sides of Maxi-Singles. Some of these pieces are already on the "alternative" double-CD, as "You know where you went wrong", "A New Life" or "Do I have to?", But the demo version of "Always on My Mind "is published nowhere else and listen to the remixes on CD preserves the record collection. In discussing one of the new releases of the Pet Shop Boys albums and each enclosed lovingly made and very informative and extensive booklets including lyrics should not be forgotten.
I do not know if "Actually" is the best album of Pet Shop Boys (I personally like "Please" at least as happy), but it's one of the best pop albums ever and contains not a single bad piece. The bonus CD should additionally irritate the purchase.
