Chris Jericho has published the second part of his autobiography and takes as in his highly acclaimed debut "A Lion's Tale" not mince words when it comes to his experiences in the WWE as a professional wrestler and in the music industry as a singer of "Fozzy "goes.
"Undisputed" begins at the point in time where "A Lion's Tale" in the last chapter ended: In Jericho's WWE debut as "the solution of the" 2000 "problem" in August 1999 Monday Night RAW when he The Rock during could interrupt a promo. In an extremely entertaining to read writing style Jericho then describes over 400 pages, his rise to the top of his doctorate and then following descent into Midcard which eventually leads to a more than two-year hiatus from wrestling. In parallel with his experiences in the WWE locker room chapters are interspersed through the career of his band "Fozzy" repeatedly, bringing it over the years in the "Heavy Metal" scene of the USA also for a little fame and success. And offers plenty of room for curious stories from the music industry. Jericho illustrious WWE career (and ultimately unstoppable rise) is worked up in detail and topped with various internals of the backstage area, which it partly never seen before to read in any "Inside" -Newslettern the Internet. With plenty of humor and self-irony the "Ayatollah of Rock'n'Rollah" describes his initial difficulties in the WWE, his first confrontation with "backstage politics" and intrigues against him in the locker room and his first major dispute with WWE owner Vince McMahon. The relationship with his boss is always marked by a constant "ups and downs" over the years, periods of harmony and mutual respect always follow phases in which both men clashed in smaller and larger disputes. Above all, always hovering while the question of whether Chris Jericho is really suited to be allowed to cite as "World Champion" credible as one of their biggest stars WWE.
As in "A Lion's Tale" there is again an open end. The last chapter describes the final minutes at the RAW, when he was allowed to interrupt the "SAVE_US.Y2J" countdown Randy Orton. His second autobiography ends with time in November 2007. In the then following three years as WWE Main Eventer (and his great feud with Shawn Michaels in 2008) on the other hand is no longer received. Here offers already now a lot of material for a possible third book.
Overall, "Undisputed" is not quite the impressive quality of its predecessor, "A Lion's Tale" approach. Jericho first book was due to the numerous international reports a slightly greater diversity and "depth" of interesting (and often wonderfully funny) anecdotes to offer than "Undisputed". Nevertheless, his new work to reread a delight and so provides a lot of "insider stories" of the past 10 years the WWE like no other comparable Wrestlers autobiography in the recent past. The reading of "Undisputed" is not only for "Jericholics" thoroughly recommended, but certainly also for everyone interested in the WWE Fan product of modern times. Moreover, it should also be for supporters of the Bands "Fozzy" to read fascinating how the band under the direction of Jericho slowly developed and known abroad was.
Some amusing anecdotes about encounters with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Dillon and Axl Rose and a lot of pictures from private photo albums round a total of more than successful book finally perfectly. Minor point deductions, there are only a few poorly researched match recaps, the end of each battle is no longer reproduces in Jericho correctly and partially distorted (as in describing his "Royal Rumble 2000 '-Kampfes against Chyna and Hardcore Holly) because he his memory seems to play a prank, and some sloppy and careless when working up the "timeline" in 2001-2002, which would normally be a decent editing must be prevented.
As with Bret Hart in his autobiography "Hitman: My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling" Unfortunately, there are some inconsistencies and illogical abnormalities when playing events in storylines or major PPV fights. Time allegedly attacked the "UnAmericans" in a PPV match from him, even though the group did not even exist at this point, time will be the debut of Scott Steiner and his appearance in "Highlight Reel" chronological incorrectly classified and once - in a Zeitsprung in the first part of the book - he wants to have allegedly even X8 denied a Midcard match against William Regal at Wrestlemania. This of course was actually held at WrestleMania 17 in Houston, while Jericho's only World Cup Main Event just with those mentioned WrestleMania X8 in Toronto walked across the stage.
Whatever, you can see on these smaller sloppiness away, "Undisputed" has become still one of the best books on professional wrestling in modern times. The humor, the creativity, the humor and the irony of Chris Jericho jump one directly opposed to each side and make this autobiography to an all-round entertaining reading pleasure, when you can learn a lot about the wrestling, as well as the music industry in the US.
