This is Volume Two of this long novel of 4000 pages and is also a short and a good implementation of a vast universe.
The text though not very long pocket is quite suggestive.
Already a crowd of characters, several human branches and different habitats. Brief dazzling universe.
With as usual with the author of more than realistic characters. They often give the appearance of being alive even if they shine only some pages.
In this little tome second alien contexts are also present. One of the main characters in the novel, explores the alien habitat of a lost civilization.
Humanity is primarily cleaved into two branches the Adamistes, who are hostile to all genetic manipulations too transformists and Edenistes that they merge into a community where even the dead body and no longer have much meaning, and finally in the Edenistes is an environment where space habitats, spaceships are aware.
The main human civilization in this universe (one that included politically land) is pretty wild and brutal. It is based on a lot of exclusion and much distress.
The deep space works like a tough reel. The planet Lalonde, a new colony, is from this point of view a world of pain, power relations, and strenuous efforts to survive.
The human expansion happened there a few centuries and therefore this human area is vast and it is fragmented in various views, such as that of civilization or that of political systems ....
From the economic point of view or the point of view of civilization in general we are in an Anglo-Saxon movement where these aspects have a scent of anarchy. It is enough "life of animals", and it is also the world of free Omnipotentis entrepreneurship. Where independence, adaptability and skill prevails over any other consideration.
This fantastico-futuristic universe is as magical as realistic and rational, even afterwards where we will add whimsical to clarify its description.
It is not far, in fact, however, yet a hard science rather poetic.
If you do not enjoy reading the evocative and consistent description of a gas giant or that of a sudden acceleration in a vacuum, there are moments that will make you suffer.
If instead you want to nestle you in evocative descriptions you will find some sublime pages.
For this first part of this "cycle" the reader addresses the exploration of a mystery (in archaeological part) that will be the result of heavy consequences.
And there is a singularity on Lalonde, a break in the real that has not finished breaking, twisting and shaping reality by revealing over hundreds of pages, a real drama.
The plot is full of twists and it is a full life cycle and real characters we really feel to accompany in the most unlikely places and surprising ..
I am personally convinced that these thousands of pages, are neither more nor less, paradise, the pardes, Walhalla, Nirvana, the enthusiast space op ...
