Once here, many different reviews have been read I would like to explain briefly my impressions:
Sony provides with this device many features that are otherwise likely to be found in more expensive devices. However, we are in the entry-level price range - and judged this player is really top.
To drive:
Often we read of unbearable noise of the drive. I have my device connected directly to my router and updated to the latest firmware before I have dealt extensively with the player.
Yes - clacks after inserting a medium and tackert the LW short (max 5sec.) - Playback of CDs and DVDs is almost silent - the integrated fans heard not one! If one really puts his ear to the device you can sometimes hear a slight tickers.
And jaaaaa - with Blueray playback, the unit produces really high Fiepton - this I hear but only if I really squat in front of the device and otherwise is absolute silence in the room. TV in room volume is with me about 20-30 (depending on the broadcaster or media) - even at 5 I hear these sounds even if I am no longer even close to the unit. So I can not imagine that this sounds a spoil the fun to me - in 3-4m distance myself noticed nothing disturbing in quiet scenes, though I am very sensitive and critical in the reference. Since the malmende sound of my hard drive Trek Orders by a factor of 10 is eg disturbing.
For image quality:
The picture at Blueray playback at 1080p 24 is simply a dream. And even the upscaling of DVDs takes place in a super quality. OK, so Noname cheap DVD players are I've never come into the house - compared with my 3 year old Sony hard drive recorder which also has 1080p upscales brings the Blueray a visibly better picture DVDs.
Other features I can still not write detailed - have one or the other video from YouTube or online content, the sender LAN looked - also playing vob (ie normal ribbed DVD) via the USB input works great. Photos via USB also properly - so I have for example. set my TV with HD test patterns from a USB stick.
So I'm very happy that I get offered here all the initial price level and can therefore only recommend this device.

After 2 months of very little use appeared also to me louder whistling at Blue-Ray playback - even the drive was generally noisier and also has the chatter and noise shredder often described here fabricated - and also for DVD playback
And even errors in the reproduction of DVDs then came I got all the equipment on Saturn placed in the service - who sent it - would otherwise was the statement - generally is not exchanged accommodating with Sony - and NEN loaner not gabs.
After a week I was able to pick up the player again - the service workshop had replaced the drive - but I do not because the error was unfortunately exactly there.
Smart as I am, I have already taken a problem-DVD when picking up and tested there in an exhibition player - as was the fine.
So once again the service - this time delivered by problem-DVD - after calming week I should pick him up - go back and must listen to me, that the equipment complies with the specifications and my problem-DVD in the workshop on identical and other devices not running. Smooth lie, because I knew that the DVD was clean in Vorführmodel.
Since I am then became loud and got me really excited - the Saturn workshop manager wanted me the device also as it is back on the testimony give to the workshop.
But with me to Vorführmodel in the sales department, he did not want to - but I have made it clear that I want to have nothing more to do with the broken thing.
