Who owns "Just One Night", may be the previously released albums ends of Clapton dust on the shelves safely. This recording from 1979 brings together not only the best of Clapton from the 70s, but, the studio recordings with respect playful mood and song selection consistently in the shadows. Clapton is for me indeed a great guitarist, but none of the studio albums can convince to full length, always intervenes too much trivial, too much music in pop style between the songs. Not so with "Just One Night": Clapton thrilled with his Giarren crafts, plowing and rackert felt on stage, and not a single song on the double album to be even remotely questioned. Overwhelmingly are mainly the old blues classics which are partly downright celebrated in excess length of Clapton. A complete success, a truly outstanding album - better than anything Clapton has ever been published before or ever after. Who wants to have only a single work: here it is.
