Before I was offered this test object, I was looking for a cheap sub-notebook with the latest hardware at an affordable price. The notebook should also be office and reasonably suitable for gaming.
Certainly the Lenovo G50-45 is not high-end notebook, but for under 280 Euros, it offers a viable hardware. Subsequent upgrading is limited. Were installed in the device 4 GB memory which can be expanded up to 8GB. The Lenovo has 2 memory slots, one of which, fortunately, only one is occupied by a 4GB bars. Furthermore, the notebook has been thrown in a 500GB hard drive. While this contributes to the low selling price, but for now this time is a bit too small. Since the Lenovo unfortunately also has no second hard drive slot, the upgrade options are very limited. One might indeed the existing hard drive with a larger exchange, but then you lose the same time the operating system Windows 8.1, which is located on a protected partition.
An extra disk, ie a Windows 8.1 DVD is not included in this package. Dignity but also of little consequence because the notebook anyway no DVD drive does whatever is no longer absolutely necessary nowadays. Genial is definitely the boot time. Few seconds after turning on the Windows has finished loading.
The screen is big enough, with 15.6 inches, but the contrast could be a bit stronger. While the reflective display looks at first glance nice, but in direct sunlight no longer be seen. Very pleasant was the same to me on the AccuType keyboard. The keys are not directly to each other hanging, but created some distance, just as you would expect from a traditional PC keyboard.
On the Lenovo G50-45 I use mainly Office 2010, Adobe Crative Suite 4 and occasionally play World of Warcraft. It can be played fluently with high graphics settings. If you compare the graphics settings on Ultra but "it a bit jerky. Otherwise, the computer has everything I need and what I do not need much. Microsoft Office 2010 and Adobe CS4 run without problems.
Were installed in this notebook the following components:
HDD: 500GB SATAII, 5400RPM, 16MB Buffer
RAM: 1x 4GB DDR3 1066 PC3
Graphics card: AMD Radeon R4
Processor: AMD A6-6310, 2.4GHz
Positives:
Large 15.6-inch display (HD 1080p)
Large AccuType keyboard
Enough connectors (3xUSB, HDMI, D-Sub VGA, Sound)
Windows 8.1
Ordinary processing
WLAN + Bluetooth 4.0
720p Webcam
Negatives:
Display (contrast, viewing angle, mirroring)
Small Hard Drive
Low Memory
No DVD drive
No Windows Disk included (only on one partition)
No manual included
Hardware almost not extensible
Despite the weak hardware, I was pleasantly surprised by the notebook. Who occasionally uses the laptop for Internet and Office, does not make much wrong with this device. Even games are possible to a certain extent. Unfortunately, the system is very poorly expandable. The price-performance ratio.
