Positives:
+ Very stable housing
+ Powerful Samsung SSD (but can not be used for this SSD Samsung own tools Magican because the SSD is not recognized as Samsung SSD)
+ Good, backlit keyboard. Large keys with decent stroke. However, "rattle" the keys a bit more than my HP Business Notebook
+ No Bloadware
+ Decent performance
+ When properly adjusted fairly quiet
+ Good driver and system tuning - the system is very stable
+ Very stable and play-free folding mechanism for the display
+ Because I do not need long battery life, I have decided for the smaller battery and am surprised absolutely positive about the long-term maturities.
Neutral
o the display is fine, evenly lit and well lit
o Automatic Updates on the Dell site does not really work automatically - at least I'm not really come so far behind, as they can go
o separate mouse buttons for TouchStick users (not integrated like Lenovo in the touchpad). Unfortunately, these keys sitting a little too deep in the body - but you get used to it.
Negative
- The housing is warm under load at the bottom of a lot. On the left Luftauslassschlitzen the housing becomes extremely hot. Warm the housing is also at the top right of the touchpad. The use on the lap is thus limited!
- Although I read Installing an SSD DELL-sided, the settings of the computer were adjusted in any way to it - neither the AHCI mode was enabled in the BIOS yet meaningful settings in Windows 7 were made. As the Samsung's own tool does not work, strangely enough, with this Samsung SSD, all settings must be made manually.
- I have been years of intensive users of Touch sticks. While the drive works precisely, but it is too deep in the keyboard. When using the stick is pressed always easy down the B button. The cap is quite slippery. Due to the lower relative to HP and Lenovo stick diameter, whose "Replacement caps" can not be used. I am thinking in particular of the outstanding non-slip Classic dome caps. According to Dell, there are no alternatives for the factory-fitted caps.
Note:
If you, as happened to me, configures the notebook on the Dell website itself, it is made to order in China and transported by boat to Holland. In my case, it took just over two weeks. So if you want to replace a defective notebook through a self-configured Precision, should necessarily take into account this delivery time.
