This lens hood is, like the rest of Canon, for the "stuck" on the lens. This means that it a quarter turn in the specially conceived screw on the lens firmly clicks. So it is not, such as more favorable all-round aperture of Enjoyyourcamera or so, can be screwed into the filter thread.
This allows you the visor up much faster and more secure and settle (the thread of the filter is very fine, which is often hakelig with such aperture), and, more importantly, it can be upside down screws on the lens so that it is safe can take without having to engage in the camera bag. Theoretically, one can replace even without filters remove the bezel, but that's really rare.
Conclusion: Anyone who thinks that the price of such a genuine Canon Aperture hurts should just try both types so to assemble a panel to see if it's worth the price difference (for me definitely).
