The matte coating gives way to smooth black plastic hull so it does not "dirty" but simply used / filed down. In my case it does not bother me one sees that this phone has a living (...) but if you are manic ...
Otherwise it's perfect:
- "Barely there" = barely there, the weight and thickness are minimal;
- Perfectly compatible with the use of vintage leather case Krusell;
- The galaxy may be more aesthetic / pro / "clean" with this shell that without? Yes, even worn ...
- No shock therefore to lament I can not say if the hull protects the phone as well as other reviews mention.
EDIT February 2013: After almost 6 months of use, a substantial portion of the coating is now gone. Very average appearance.
