We are currently building. A professional burglar alarm would be something exaggerated and too expensive. But at least we want to install a small indoor surveillance, if we are to work or get away.
The DSC932-L makes a first impression of high quality if they are unpacked. Foot and ball joint are at the core of metal, thus quite heavy and make a stable impression. The interior of the camera to a Fritzbox 7390 have made the same WLAN without LAN cable. Camera Software installed from the supplied CD, camera connected to the outlet, via WPS with the Fritz box, set up in the software ready. It's as simple little. The cam has immediately discovered a new firmware. Download via Wi-Fi and installation in the Cam went automatically and without any problems.
The picture quality is ok both in day and in night mode. The 640x480 resolution is certainly not intended to monitor the entire garden or a large driveway. Inside, for example, for monitoring a door or a window, but perfectly adequate.
The supplied software is not at all bad. You can set resolution, FPS etc, day and night mode, alarm notifications via email. The motion detection also works! Very well. You can select different areas of the image space to monitor and adjust the sensitivity of motion detection. If the motion detection then triggers, one obtains a desired number of images by email delivered. If you have a smartphone, of course, go. What bothered me was that the Cam obviously on night mode also gets a signal when switching from day that is interpreted as a movement. This has a large number of emails produced while it was getting dark, because the cam has often changed from day to night and back. It's probably better to manually adjust the choice of day and night mode at fixed times and not to leave it to the automatic.
D-Link offers a free mobile app for the Cam which works wonderfully. You can always see the live image of your home. A paid app (very cheap), there is the case that you want to control multiple cameras.
Otherwise, I am satisfied. It's a bit complicated to get into the advanced settings of the action. This I find not very clear. But one comes already clear.
Meanwhile, I ordered two more cameras of this type. Overall, then later three cams will make the house a little safer. I have also now acquired a small NAS server from Synology. The monitoring software contained therein Surveilance station is a little more comfortable than that of D-Link. Have the NAS but now buy not only for the Cam but use them in other ways. But whoever has a Synology DiskStation or wants to purchase, which can easily reach for DSC-932L. There, too, the cam was immediately recognized and was quickly set up.
For more than 80, - a really nice product.

Yet a little supplement.

As far as people here according to the reviews had trouble connecting the camera with a Fritz box, so that was not the case with me. At the very least, the cam links with current firmware easily via WPS with a Fritz box 7390 with current firmware. Anyone who has a 7390, should not have any trouble here.

My original review of the price / performance ratio with "very good" was referring to the old way, Amazon price of 83.90. Now the price has even been reduced to 66.00! So who seriously a non-HD Wireless Cam studied, which should strike at this price immediately.
The price was 3 days after I had ordered two more cams for 83.90 reduced to 66.00. I have a quick friendly email to Amazon sent therefore and already 25min receive a goodwill credit for the difference to the new price later. Once again top of customer service Amazon!
