Was the old FoxL few years ago a sensation, so the market has been catching on compact Bluetooth speakers now that it now provide far better sound at fraction of the cost to deliver. Especially Denon showed the Envaya mini, how much sound you can squeeze under 100 Euro from a compact loudspeaker that is only slightly larger (especially longer) than the FoxL. The Dash 7 is aimed again to miniaturize and improve on the original FoxL. In many ways that is also managed, especially in design and handling, but unfortunately not the sound, which is in my opinion a clear step backwards. Qualitatively there are flaws, especially when you consider the asking price. The speaker grille is the lowest priced plastic quickly scratched or even tear because it bends after light pressure. Although the FoxL Dash 7 has now become extremely flat, but by the extra length compared to the original FoxL he is no longer really fit your pocket, especially with the supplied case he is then no longer so flat. The envelope I find a bit awkward, putting up is tricky at the start, and the Dash 7 see in the end then also not very stable. A light touch brings him immediately drop. Sonically the Dash 7 is not bad at all, the sound is self-contained and relatively linear, but at 150-200 simply expecting something else. The maximum volume is very modest, at the top of the speakers distorted then even stronger. Especially disappointed me was the bass, which is still significantly worse than its predecessor. Although the bass can be extremely accentuated by flat positioning on a suitable underlay. The vibrations from the internal passive radiator are transmitted by the integrated rubber feet on the ground, provided the pad has appropriate resonating skills, the altitude range is suffering then of course the fact because the chassis completely radiate upwards and not the handset directly. Most impressive I found the result laid flat on a freezer, where the bass impact then a SoundLink Mini inferior from the Dash 7 almost nothing. A demo video I linked to in the comments. Of course there are limits, because from certain levels tends all to chatter and skipping, so you can not expect that you turn full and then get fat bass. But it was appropriate documentation to look for a time of fun, but then could appear significantly more voluminous sound. Not all tables or shelves are similarly resonant, because you have to try around a bit, but partly already handed the case of my notebook to clear aufzupeppeln the sound in the bass range. Unfortunately, the sound is no suitable surface but very thin and unexciting. Mostly you get the devices below 40 then you better and can play louder, but perhaps not quite as compact. My advice if you are not necessarily the extremely flat design is required of Denon Envaya Mini playing much more mature, while also loud, without distortion. To make matters worse the Denon also plays spatial, a real reason for being I do not see the FoxL Dash 7 now no longer, even if both would cost the same.
