Acer Chromebook CB5-311-T6R7 33.8 cm (13.3-inch) notebook (NVIDIA Tegra K1 NV, 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, 32GB eMMC, Full HD, Chrome OS) white (Personal Computers)

Customer Review

I have waited a long time and thoughtfully back and forth if I should make the switch from Windows to Chrome OS.
Long there was no 13.3 "and 15" notebooks to limited power / memory - whatever.

And here we are, my new baby and I * grin *

Why I have chosen for a Chromebook and not for an even leistungssärkeres Windows notebook?

I was the constant system maintenance and the general handling of Windows sorry.
On top of that I have only used 90% of the Chrome browser.
Other applications were limited to a few old games which I can do without, thanks to current console.

All routine tasks accomplished the Chromebook with flying colors!

Google Docs - Office replacement, works just fine
Gmail, GMX, WEB - I had previously realized on my Windows PC already via Chrome Plugin
Spotifiy - has a wonderful app that represents the known Webplayer
32GB - more than enough space for me to local MP3s and images
Google Drive - Back Up and interface for my Android smartphone
Pixlr Editor - Paint / image editing

From startup - WLAN Config - Registration - Update - synchronize with my Windows Chrome settings = 7min

Where I previously the Windows PC despite SSD (15 - 25sec startup) have started more times
because it just took me too long to operational readiness, the Chromebook is
off after use. If yes, finally turned back in 5-7sec.

Pro:

- Laaaaaaaaaaange battery life
- All of everyday office to mail available
- Super fast boot time
- No real system maintenance more necessary (updates, antivirus software, firewall, etc.)
- Lightweight
- YouTube Full HD playback works without jerking and twitching (VDSL 50 connection)
- Notebook starts after opening eigenständig¹ and after registration immediately Browser
- Simple guest access
- Very bright screen
- No fan noise
¹ When it snaps shut off and no one has of course the power button press

Contraindications:

- No Delete key / Enter and the hash key are very close together (whining at a high level)

Neutral:

- No Internet, No Chromebook (Mag for some be a disadvantage for me it is no longer relevant)
- No Windows-like program installation (should be clear before purchase!)

Who can I recommend this and generally Chromebooks?

Almost exclusively to surf each of its PC and Music / Youtube listen / watch uses.
Each of tired of continual system maintenance has
Each of a friend simple operation and configuration
Each of the suffering it is to have after a few hours to the socket

I have read in the reviews the tip only a week only the Chrome browser
to use and its extensions and plug-ins. Who here on only a handful
Programs missing but can do without this. To those I can get a Chromebook
suggest. Do you like to and it is testing at least. It is worth it.

Tips for use:

Touchpad with a finger tap = left click
Touchpad with two Find tap = right click
With two fingers on the touchpad on and off drive = scrolling
With two fingers on the touchpad to the left go back =
With two fingers on the touchpad to the right drive = Against
Alt + Tab = Switch between windows
Enable / Disable Alt + Search key = Caps Lock (continuous large writing)
Create Screenshot = Please look into the comments - there you will find a link to a picture (representation of the key combination)

Update:

The speakers are okay for me but not a serious criterion.
For YouTube and other reproductions in between but Okay.
If I want to listen to music longer use my existing
Bluetooth adapter for my hi-fi system, works perfectly!

I have this adapter Philips Bluetooth stereo adapter AEA2000 / 12 black for wireless playback from the smartphone / tablet on your hi-fi system
for quite some time for my smartphone in operation and also with the Chromebook quibble functionality.

Update 2:

If you have problems with too low of displayed fonts and Web sites have in the Full HD version.
Setting "125%" in the settings Font size "means" and page zoom.
This setting is super pleasant for me.

UPDATE 3 !!!!:

I have just managed to guide Skype to get started on the Chromebook,
this was the last program that I have missed something but. Super, so it can go on!
