Who The Doors not know and want to get an overview of the musical work of this so startling as mysterious band, is the right place for this CD. Here all the big hits are namely sampled that made the band famous. And so there is groovy rebellious songs like "Break On Through", the Doors' classic "Light My Fire", but also dark, psychedelic songs like "When the Music's Over" and (of course) "The End" to hear. Especially "The End" is the latest since Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now" a classic. Better than in this film one would hardly be able to make use of The Doors cinematically, and perhaps gives the film also some indication as regards the interpretation of the text of Jim Morrison. Morrisons poetic talent and philosophical inclination are also clear in the interpretation of the actually written by Kurt Weill and texted by Brecht song "Alabama Song". The CD is really a compilation of Doors hits as they better not have been put together. (This is an Amazon.com at the university-student review.)
