Initially, there is two beautiful pop songs "Viktoria" (with Japanese violin arrangement) and "Homeless" (with great piano). "Homeless" is for me one of the most beautiful ballad songs this autumn, a little "Three Minutes epic". These first two songs so have great verses and choruses that they form a wonderful bridge to the previous album.
"The art of forgiveness" is for me then a little bulky, then in "Habits" in a duet with Mads Langer will be very quiet and the two will be accompanied only by the piano.
The next highlight for me is "This Too Shall Pass" with a wonderful choir, particularly beautiful verse and great song structure, "Money" is available with handclaps and also very special melody. "Takes one to know" is spherical and dark with mysterious effects and chorus.
In "It took me by surprise," it is even a little faster and soulful and at the end even almost danceable, what I do not know as of Maria Mena.
With two very typical Mena songs they finished their album "Secrets", a sensitive ballad and "Am I supposed to apologize?", As quiet with some aufbrausenderem refrain.
Is outstanding as always Maria Mena's voice unmistakable, melancholic and tender, Nordic, but never cool, as are the arrangements: varied even within a song, the instruments used go by many strings, glockenspiel, clarinet and bass, to beautiful piano runs. Every song has something special in itself, a particular strength of their songs.
What I find next track 3 wiedermal less successful is the brevity of the songs, though only 11 songs, then please sometimes dare something and expand the songs a bit, after 3 minutes of some very successful songs are already over or reach this limit four songs especially not what I then be a great pity and think why a star have to deduct.
Otherwise: perfect, mostly quiet pop music just right for fall.
