I used this product on a laptop. I have not encountered any technical problems so far. All of my devices are recognized by plugging them into the hub: printer, tablet, DVD burner, USB key, wireless keyboard, web cam and external hard drive. I never had any disconnections or conflicts. It is true that the cable is short and can be very inconvenient when you need to connect it to the back of a desktop computer ... on the other hand, given the quality of the product, it seems to me that it is a acceptable default.
In conclusion, this is a very handy device when used on a laptop that suits me well.
