But then I heard about the GL-1 "Guitalele" and I pretty quickly decided one ordered it. I am very happy about this decision! The familiar handles the guitar work, but feel, compared to ukulele, "normal" (you get no hand cramp because of overstretching)
My GL-1 sounds very, very good: brilliant and amazingly loud. However, I've also heard that there are considerable variations as it could possibly be worthwhile to consider an exchange if you are disappointed with the sound.
Technically, it is continuously laminated wood, which actually is already visible through the price. The sound of surprise in the face of the material very well (even if there appears to fluctuations so) The mechanics are simple but well, as I am so used to from Yamaha. The pitch is a bit higher than I would have set it yourself, but nowhere near as high as it is often seen with cheap instruments. Disturbing the action is not, anyway. The frets are precisely positioned (that is with the instruments of this size often a problem, what guitarist is usually not known, because it is rare in the major guitar) and produce a good intonation.
I would recommend this Guitalele all those who are looking for a robust, cheap travel guitar, or consider to switch from ukulele to guitar and looking for a transition.
All in all, you get to a small price a nice, technically advanced, practical tool which will prepare a safe a lot of joy.
