Installation:
The software includes two tools:
G-series Key Profiler: managing the macro keys 18 G, profiles, and backlight colors associated
LCD Manager: handles keyboard basic settings and "plugins" display on the LCD screen.
As for the LCD, it's a treat:
There is every kind of information, stats (rand players etc ...)
Some monitoring software or as benchmarks (CoreTemp, FRAPS ...) use the screen to display information such as temperature or the number of frames per second.
The backlight of the screen in addition to keys is very nice, especially in a dimly lit area, you can choose the color via the RGB palette in G-series Key Profiler. The color change is impressive speed (almost instantaneous).
Integrated sound card:
On the upper edge (left thread) there are 2 jacks for connecting a headset / microphone, very convenient, detection is automatic, needs no additional driver.
There are 2 groups of keys for audio:
- A group dedicated to the helmet: it consists of two buttons that can cut apart the microphone input and headphone output, convenient in games. A red LED also indicates for each of these functions, if enabled.
- The second group dedicated to the multimedia part: a volume knob and 5 keys (play / pause, stop, forward, rewind and mute) .They permit management of any type of player (Windows Media, winanmp ...).
Use:
The keys are well located and quiet, it will get used to its unusual width, and the fact that we find ourselves a little flatter than normal even under the feet, because of its thin profile.
Conclusion
Decidedly the G510 is a product almost faultless. The only downside is it is still wired but Logitech sign a very good product whose price is likely to remain the only brake, here will be the price to pay for near perfection.
