I myself am an amateur photographer who does not want to give up the possibilities of different lenses, but also not willing to spend a few hundred euros for it.
After long thought, I decided then for the cheapest option without vibration reduction.
When I received the items by fast delivery, my quality for the price processing initially noticed that really is a plus point.
Only the somewhat cumbersome switching to macro mode of 180mm available from a focal length is a bit disturbing. So it can happen that you only have to switch to manual focusing, to return under a focal length of 180mm.
Now on to the picture quality. I tested the lens in different situations and have been pleasantly surprised by the result. Especially with a focal length of 70-ca.150mm the Tamron achieved impressive results, with whom I have so unexpected.
In direct comparison with a Sigma lens that photographs I liked almost better with the Tamron at this point.
Its borders reach the film but then with greater aperture, but this is not surprising.
Overall me but a good contrast behavior is noticed, so I would recommend this lens immediately over the entire focal length range.
A negative aspect is still the somewhat slow, yet quite noisy working autofocus; but he works very well.
All in one I am very happy with this lens. Of course, this is in some ways a "fair-weather lens" which eventually has its limitations, but you can not say at this price and receives a large package of plus points.
