Ballads 'N' Bullets (Audio CD)

Customer Review

With the first signs of life and the self-published EP "Pandemonium", the extraordinary troupe showed quite well that Metal works well even without guitars. Here namely the piano is the driving force. Bastian Emig, which was actually only known as the drummer of the a cappella band VAN CANTO, has perhaps created with IN LEGEND a new genre, the piano Metal. A pressure medium he needed then but and therefore there with bassist Daniel and drummer Dennis Otto Vicke also a capable rhythm section.

The EP caused a lot of amazement and garnered a consistently positive reviews. That one thus equal to a recording contract landed, there was no surprise, and also that the four tracks can now be found on the debut album, is also understandable that EP was just to get on the band and strictly limited.

The first work of IN LEGEND goes by the name "Ballads'N'Bullets", which says a lot, because the trio repeatedly fluctuates between hard passages and ballad-like parts, which the track "Pandemonium" is perfect. There faster parts, double bass and good rhythm. On the other hand, of course, are the beautiful piano sounds of Basti and his soulful voice that give the track its charm. "Heaven Inside" kicks in a similar notch, but is almost a bit more melodic and goes nicely thanks driving rhythm into his ear. With "At Her Side" then you have the first pure power ballad that unfolds really nice with anthemic chorus. At hardness it but certainly not lacking in the album, because both the punchy rhythms, as well as the deeper chords of the piano provide the necessary dose of Metal.

If you sit at the source, then why not access the same? - Probably thought Bastian and grabbed VAN Cantos Inga angelic voice to conjure "Stardust" is another highlight. The duet is extremely successful and also shows nice that the all-rounder not hide behind the singers of his main force needs. In "Yue" is allowed between relax, because the track is breathed an instrumental and very classic. After the already known tracks "Heaya" and "Prestinate" finished "Universe" this successful debut with great sounds and a very good chorus.

IN LEGEND are exotics in the metal genre and show that Metal also can function without guitars and at a high level. Feeling, hardness, groove and atmosphere are given continuously and thus is "Ballds'N'Bullets" a successful metal album and can eagerly await what may come in the next few years.
