Pikmin

Already on the Gamecube I was of 'Pikmin' totally surprised. The game is very simple in essence, yet it offers despite three different. Pikminarten (red, blue, yellow) many tactical options and urges professionals and beginners alike. The coordination of different tasks at the same time and the goal to find as quickly as possible all spaceship parts was incredibly motivating.

The Wii version I had because of 60Hz improvement and optimization for 16: 9 Tvs indulged since Pikmin on the Gamecube only in 50 Hz and 4: 3 ran. But the new control I had to get used only once.

Conclusion: 10/10

Pikmin 2

Pikmin 2 could not be missing in my collection. The two new Pikminarten have raised the tactical claim again. The purple Pikmin are powerhouses and can carry ten times the weight. The white Pikmin, however, are resistant to poison and poison are eaten at the opponent. They are also lightning fast.

The game was also very good again, but the many caves with their endless floors have made me less fun and stretched the game in my opinion unnecessarily.

The Wii version, I can not retest.

Has been as a third part for the Wii U announced of course totally happy about that. Finally Pikmin in HD enjoy. Unfortunately, the game was not as originally planned ready to release the Wii U in the autumn / winter 2012, but until the summer of 2013. Thanks to the fair price of 280 for the Wii U comes bundled with Mario and Luigi U I finally in January 2014 slammed.

The very beautiful cover and the successful guidance made before a great impression and voted a fine on the game. So DVD is inserted, update loaded and off we went.

The Titelbilschirm of Pikmin 3 is beautifully designed and shows the HD capabilities of Wii U. After pressing the 'A' button, the player has the choice between 'adventure', 'missions' and 'Bingo duel'. I opt for the 'adventure'.
Adventure

The design of the three main characters should have been for me like 'W' and without this strange fantasy language. But you get used to it. After the intro the player is introduced to the gameplay mechanics and made with the most familiar. There are teammates sought bred Pikmin, opponents defeated, solved puzzles and collected small fruits, which are the counterpart of the spaceship parts Pikmin1. After about 15 minutes of the day is already over and the successes and mishaps of the day are displayed. The next day, the player follows the story and then passes so gradually to new Pikminarten such as may numb the Felspikmin, the opponents and break the glass barriers. The other new species are the Flügelpikmin that can carry items about water and cliffs, raise special barriers and excellent fighter against flying critters are. They are joined by the old red, blue and yellow species. Purple and White Pikmin, however, play a role only in the missions.

Leisure facilities include fun boss fights in each world, each requiring a special tactic.

The season of the campaign varies between 10 and 20 hours, depending on how want to get hold of many fruits of the players. To complete the game must not be found and collected all the fruit, but the stock should always be enough to supply the crew as per matchday one serving is consumed.

Missions

In the missions the player can between "berries", "defeat opponents" and select "defeating raid bosses".
All variants are performed under time pressure. For collection, defeating opponents there are points. The aim is to hunt for the high score. Depending on the success, there is a bronze, silver or gold medal, or even nothing. Then no new level is unlocked.

The Control

Pikmin 3 can be controlled by gamepad, Remote + Nunchuk Controller or Pro.

When control uses the gamepad player always has the map in view and receive tips and video messages via the display. About the second analog stick is also can rotate the playing field. Unfortunately, in this variant is the sighting of certain body parts at opponents spasmodic and inaccurate. Especially with boss fights can there ever pay frustration.

None of the options is not in itself optimally. I personally recommend, therefore, control via Remote and Nunchuk and within sight of the gamepad for the map and tips in the immediate vicinity, for example, on the Coach table.

Conclusion

Pikmin 3 is a graphically very nice HD game that will delight beginners and professionals alike. The boss battles offer a great challenge and the new Pikmin types fit well in the game. The control concept is, however, in need of improvement. Only in combination can achieve a clever result.
However, I may make a full purchase recommendation for all Wii U owners.
