1) image
We tested FHD and UHD material. The UHD Samples look really great and make you want more.
The normal image with FHD material (Bluray, mkv) is quite good, especially with the posted here settings.
Although still room for improvement is (to the writing sometimes significantly), there is a 600 TV with 49-inch diagonal, the full five stars.
2) UHD content and functionality
By contrast, leaves the core feature of a UHD TVs to be desired and is possible only under the following restrictions:
- 4k (ie 4096x2304) is not supported. A downscaling on UHD resolution (3840x2160, 2160p below) is not possible.
- 2160p is not on the network (DLNA) possible. The files must be played via external hard drive and USB. Playback via HDMI and Internet streaming (eg Netflix) should be possible, but has not been tried by me.
- HEVC (H265) Movies can not be played via network or USB. It is only via HDMI and may not function Internet streaming.
- Receiving UHD transmitters should not be possible.
For these reasons, I prefer from two stars.
In practical operation, the following restrictions are not noticed:
- Normal network access is not possible. DLNA (eg by Serviio) necessary.
- When playing movies on the forward or rewind DLNA is not possible. (But mini steps are possible using the direction keys)
- In general, I have not seen any function with which I can start any timestamps.
Due to insufficient network functionality and the user-unfriendly service I pull from another star.
That with the fast forward though is actually a problem that is related to DLNA and a variety of equipment concerns. As a user, I do not really interested but. Fast forward could finally have VHS recorders.
Conclusion:
Who just needs a TV, can do without 3D and do not want to spend a lot, can strike here.
All have some extra money rather buy premium FHD model of Sony or Panasonic or another manufacturer.
All technikaffinen the eagerly awaiting UHD must be patient for 1-2 generations. The UHD / HEVC functionality is only with great restrictions.
