Play well, equipment minimalistic

The DVD player from Sony is processed fairly save space with its size and, unfortunately, otherwise quite minimalist in the processing. To pursue no display to the title selection, yet modern connections for HDMI or a USB port. Well, to play only DVDs, the device is perfectly fine, it even surprised with its wide range of media, video and audio formats that can be played.

The connection is very classic with a SCART cable (not included) and presents no problems. Annoyingly, however for me was quite short power cord, and without an extension cable for 50 cm it was not unfortunately.

The remote control is designed quite clear and easy to handle, so no reason to complain. However, since I do not have compatible TV from Sony, this is only for the player, although an operation of the TV set should be possible (provided by Sony).

Pleasant is the quiet playing, which is relatively quiet. From my previous DVD players I'm used to that this sometimes is quite noisy, especially when skipping chapters. These disturbing noises are not heard here and the device runs smoothly and quietly to himself.

I find it interesting the wide display format of the player. Even videos in AVI (Xvid) are easily recognized and read from disk. The playback of music files works great, as is the display of images and slideshows with digital photos of the device.

All in all, a minimalist unit, which is really only intended for pure playing DVD's and also self-created media. Fundamentally, I am satisfied with the device, although there is the odd smear.
