I find the smell very pleasant, but that's a matter of taste. Did the review with an asterisk ala smells like "toilet cleaner" I have to strongly disagree. I use the gel for about 3 weeks and am quite happy with it. One does not need much, it lathers well and I use it for the entire body incl. Hair. Also I shave with a Braun shaver (Waterproof) directly under the shower at all kinds of places.
I can only say "try it out" and in 6-pack also cheap at Amazon in saving subscription.
