The advantage I have seen the sensor over a GPS sensor was that the S1 foot pod is not weather dependent. Especially in bad weather you can get with GPS sensors problems.
However, the S1 has with me sometimes does not work properly, especially if you change the pace strong, the sensor has partially briefly problems. Overall, he has but works quite well.
The sensor was used in conjunction with a Polar FT60M. The interplay between the clock and sensor worked well. One only had to stop at the clock that you use a foot pod. Thereafter the clock has detected the foot pod after a few minutes automatically.
Positives:
- Measures speed and distance
- Not dependent on the weather
- Connects to different running shoes easily install (tested with 3 different pairs of running shoes)
- Polar FT60M recognizes the sensor automatically
- High quality / good workmanship / robust
Negatives:
- Relatively high weight
- Relatively large
- Can by its size disrupt the movement of Fussabrollens easy
- High price, measured in mind that you get apps for the smartphone at least measure the distance, for a fraction of the price
- Has some small interruptions when changing the pace strong
There are a total of 3 star to me. Due to the high weight and the size of the sensor I'm reluctant to run it. Only if I really want to know exactly what distance I covered how fast, I use the sensor yet. The quality, however, is really good.
